Interesting comparison with Gemstone Mine. Also with Tendo Ice Bridge. I think this is probably rather good, and should probably be rare.
Originally this was a mana elf, but that didn't match the flavor anymore. Only natives of Glorica can use ion counters, and natives of Glorica are always hybrid or multicolored at this point. This didn't make sense at
and was unweildly at
, so a land it becomes.
Okay, yeah, I got a lot more mileage out of that.
Huh. I like the flavor text, but I don't know who to ascribe it to. I think I need to add an insightful Philosopher. Probably a Leonin Cleric. Maybe with a personality similar to Private Plato from Beetle Bailey....
Link is referring to a misspelling. And he's right. Thank you.
The name probably won't stick anyway. I was trying to evoke Emerson's quote about "Foolish Consistency" but... well... hm... maybe I just need to add some flavor text. Will think about it.
Consistent?
Man, I had this dream recently where a pack of half-bear, half-saber-toothed cats with shaggy hair kept trying to get in the house. It was rather terrifying, but when I woke up, I kept thinking about how cool that animal looked.
I'll have to remember that this one, and WUB probably have the best combination. I wouldn't want to Jund those colors.
3/3 flying lifelink for 3 mana does seem very strong, but I guess it's only comparable to Vampire Nighthawk...
I agree it'd be situational; but it's often going to be very nearly a targeted "Not only must you block this, but that thing there is what you must do it with"
I like it.
So would U+B (whether they chump or not, you just keep pulling out of reach).
Often, yes. But the red ability works very well with the rest of the 10 card cycle, so I think one card with a not-as-useful result is fine. I would like to point out, however, that if you and your opponent have a locked ground game and your opponent controls a Wind Drake, that the U+R ability will win you the game.
Isn't it counterproductive to go for U+R?
Those types make me giggle.
Fast, Effective, Cheap. choose two :)
