Added cycling based bounce effect.
Increased transform cost.
Yea that's generally how Rhystic style mechanics work. In this case, in most circumstances it amounts to your opponent just tapping a land each turn.
Changed to an Unbound synergy card.
Yeah, that second side is strong enough that basically you're just taxing your opponent for
each turn, like Disruptive Student, except they get a 3/3 as well.
It's one of those cards like "Target creature gets +20/+20, trample, lifelink and double strike until end of turn, unless an opponent sacrifices a permanent." The awesome thing is never going to happen because the opponent will always take the out.
The first side of this still feels a bit meh to me by itself and the 2nd side may be OP for 5 mana now.
Changed into a more simple non-DFC card because I felt the DFC idea was too convoluted.
Gave first strike.
changed from first strike to double strike.
Changed 2nd side to feel more like an upgrade.
Changed 2nd side to be based on cycling.
Changed it from a curse into a normal enchantment. Made the 2nd side a bit more interesting and powerful for the cost and altered the first side to match the feel.
Gave Unbound.
Changed to untap any permanent, including lands.
Removed unneccesary space
Changed to a mass land destruction card.
You got a point there. I guess an alternate idea could be proposed in its place, as I'm not sure how else I'd word this.
Not sure if this works, since you don't cycle a spell, you cycle a card by discarding it. It doesn't go on the stack as a spell, it just gets discarded, while only the cycle ability is on the stack.
Ah, that does change things. In that case though, I could easily see the opponent just continually paying 1. Rhystic stuff generally is feel bad. Maybe paying life would be more harsh. I still prefer the original white legendary card I posted though.
If your opponent controls the creature then they have to pay the
Added "instead of drawing a card".
So what are we doing about playing testing the existing commons and resolving the current competing card issues with commons? Otherwise, I'm wondering if it's cool now if me or one of you guys posts a new thread on the forum for the set that gives a provisional list of the commons for community feedback and future updates.
I like the idea of a DFC legend. I'm not sure I'm fond of the "donating" route though. Also, the way the transform condition is worded, it seems like you have no reason to want to pay
, since surely you'd rather have that awesome 2nd side to yourself than give your opponent a 3/3 creature.
So pretty much the way the card would work is that your opponent gets the creature for a turn, then you transform it during your next upkeep. The donation seems almost pointless then, and you get a really powerful ability and a high P/T creature with good abilities for 2 mana and simply waiting a turn.
I like the ability of this, but it feels more like a
card with the creature token thing.
are the main token colors we've been doing as well. Maybe a slightly more powerful version of this could make the mythic
legendary leader slot?
