It has a soft removal, an enchantment removal that hits some creatures in this set and the DFC exiler. Really against White getting another removal option in Common, it doesn't need so much removal.
See Stand for Eternity. Group Boost that favours defensive play.
Team Pump is a good idea, Black and Green are the obvious candidates for that, then White. Needs to be a weaker version of Swarm Surge though to justify it being an instant.
We already have one in Blue, 2 would be too many.
This card could be a looter instead.
It fits two themes. Doesn't need to fit both at common - especially if one is off-color.
Third vote for Lightslinger. Though for now I'll put into the test file what's in the skeleton.
Created to fill the last empty slot, Cycling support
On another note are you playtesting with people unfamiliar with the evergreen mechanics? Because they stopped doing reminder text for those, even at common.
Yeah that's cool, just bear in mind depending on the art we find the types and flavour of a card might change in the final iteration. Right now there isnt anything that really cares about subtypes at common so it should be fine.
added subtypes and reminder text
If it flies and is white Oltac, it is a Spirit, right?
The red-green archetype already gets plenty of coverage by the fact that discovery is extremely numerous (more than e. g. energy in KLD) and we have two horizontal cycles of land tutors.
I'm going through the skeleton right now to create a first draft for a physical playtest of commons this weekend - also adding some preliminary flavor text and subtypes where they are still missing to improve the presentation of the cards.
That's a good point. The previously suggested card doesnt really fit into any of the existing archetypes, in fact it interacts badly with both the
archetype and the
one. A team pump spell of some sort would make more sense to me.
I'd note that our basic landcycling cycle of cards are almost single target combat tricks in disguise, like Shadow Broker.
Yep, wide decks do not really need a single target combat trick. By the way, I love that right now when I hover over your Swarm Surge link, it just says "NO". XD
