Looking at the skeleton, I can see now that the real reason for changing this as you suggest would be to fill the 4 CMC white common creature slot instead of this card being in competition with another one for the 3 CMC slot. In that case, I say go for it, though I really prefer this as it is. Alternatively, we could boot the card it's competing with on the grounds that its a white card that does +1/+1 counters, which could perhaps be better done in green.

So does that mean just changing it to 2/3? Or do you mean literally a color shifted version of that card? While we do need some vanilla cards, I'd hate to take an unbound card and make it into something more plain.
