Revamped.
It's also sort of like "When equipped creature blocks, it gets +2/+0 and the creature it's blocking gets -2/-0."
Hmmm. It's pretty much the same as +2/+2. Not quite, given it might block a 1/3 or a 2/7 deathtouch, but nearly.
So I'd guess 2 and 2?
Ooh, actually - it's closer to rampage 2, isn't it? Really REALLY good if you can block multiple creatures somehow. I think the cost is still 2 though.
Typo
I don't know what costs would be fair for this.
Mmm, yes... perhaps the vigilance should go. I'm too in love with vigilance + tap abilities.
Honestly, I like the green ability but this guy seems almost too good for EDH. I really think without Vigilance he'd be more balanced since he's already debatably better than Chorus of the Conclave since he's cheaper. Also a limited bomb. Seems like a mythic to me. I'd like to build an EDH deck with this guy.
Mikaeus, the Lunarch makes me wonder if Marthanos should be Mythic.
Made the second ability only affect your creatures.
Several of the other antelopes have defensive stats, and I thought it would be cute to mirror one of the few other plainswalkers. I guess it could also be 2/3.
I think the GW "untap a forest or plains" is interesting whether or not it has any extra abilities. (In fact, it maybe should be GR, although I like the flavour of the current version.) There have been several "when this attacks, untap", but I'm not sure there was one this simple, and it would be perfect in an aggressive mana-heavy G/C deck.
It's quirky, but I like it.
I could see it at either uncommon or rare.
An evasion creature with an attack trigger, but the stats of a defender? It doesn't sit right with me. Unless it had vigilance as well, which push it well into the Chinese menu rare category, which is difficult to make aesthetically pleasing.
This is starting to feel more like a rare than an uncommon...
You're both right, it seems odd. Maybe if it was flavored as a herd of antelope, then trample would make sense. Would Forestwalk + Plainswalk be too much for this cost, size, and rarity? Plainswalk might be a nice reference to Graceful Antelope... In fact, maybe I'll make it a 1/4.
That's a good catch, jmg. My question is why does an antelope have trample? That made more sense when it was a rhino. What if it had "Untapped Plainswalk" and "Untapped Forestwalk"? Or at least the regular versions of those two.
I might be a bit of a goofball for thinking this, but it seems odd to me that this creature has trample, but doesn't trigger on combat damage. Does this bother anyone else, or is it just me?
Changed creature type & added flavor text.
I toned down the power level slightly: made the first side only combat damage and the second side only spells.
Changed wording on Oath to Daneck; added non-Illusion to prevent loop.
I woke up this morning with the intent to change it to that exact wording. That makes it sound like the Circle of Protection wording.
I think it'd be worth trying to keep the tokens the same.
I think there are problems with paying mana in the middle of replacement effects. The first ability might need to read:
>
: The next time a source an opponent controls would deal damage to you or a creature you control, put a 0/2 blue Illusion creature token onto the battlefield and that damage is dealt to that creature instead.
