Wheee! That's quite a Misguided Rage. In fact, it's the Blightning version of Misguided Rage, isn't it? I imagine this would see play in tournaments, if 3-colour decks were at all viable.
I like that you can't just use it on turn 3 to kill 2 lands unless you've done something unlikely on the first turn. Heroes' Reunion on turn 2 off a turn 1 Gruul Guildgate, perhaps?
Weell. Leaf Arrow and Oxidize are each just one mana. This is 4, and it won't even kill a Hexplate Golem, so it's fair enough to add some bits and bobs.
I actually love this. It's somewhere between Crushing Vines and Piqued Fires.
Added Lichify for 8, and A Gift of Burning for 4.
For Challenge # 078. Finally did a card that officially completes the challenge. Poor Kamigawa. You weren't a bad set... you were just too insular for most people to appreciate.
For Challenge # 078. I appear to keep coming up with neat cards that don't quite fit the challenge. I suppose I'll have to make another one.
Combos well with Blood Lust. :D
Ha! I would play this spell. Yes, indeed. At the very least "Deal 4 damage to an artifact creature, or a creature with flying" would hit a number of decks. That's a lot of icing you piled on top.
I can't help but compare this card to Martyrdom. Different enough, though, and 1998 was a long time ago...
On a seperate sidenote: I elect this card "Most likely card to have a drink named after it at a Magic: the Gathering themed bar."
Sacrificial Pyre at 5RR
For Challenge # 078
I'm not sure of the exact cost, or the exact restriction on which player the damage is dealt to (all the same? controller? opponent?), but I like the variant on "use up all the creatures in a big firey end-of-the-world".
For Challenge # 078.
For Challenge # 078.
I made Rebalance after getting 3, and Squadron Volley for 5.
Wind's Fury at 3G
For Challenge # 078
OK, stretching a lot here, but I wanted to experiment with different mana costs.
Wizards wouldn't print this because it's too confusing what happens when it targets a non-creature artifact (ie. nothing). But AFAIK it works under the rules, and I like this version of "kill anything, sort of" for green.
Common sense would probably suggest removing "creature with flying".
I still think it's odd that wizards, after having no spells that mention planeswalkers at all, go straight to spells that destroy them -- where are the spells which damage them (after all, that makes more sense for the flavour -- lots of spells damage a player, but only one or two destroy a player outright).
Oops, I looked for something similar, and that's exactly the same, but with a different templating so I didn't see it. But I knew this challenge would be most interesting in what minor tweaks people ended up making deliberately or inadvertently.
Yeah, I'm not sure quite how strong this is, but I think it's probably fine for uncommon. There are already spells which can deal 5 damage out of nowhere, I don't think costing 6 instead of 5 is likely to make a difference.
Oh yes, I see your point.
Mm, nice. Like an infinite Shining Shoal but with the targets required to be a creature and a player. Slightly odd how it can work like an Artful Dodge - perhaps it should say "that would be deal to target creature you control"? - but otherwise fine.
Liquid Fire was always slightly weak, so this seems fine; most of the time the player will be the controller of the target creature anyway :)
Reminds me of Predatory Focus.
