I can't really take credit for Flash...
Challenge # 076 So I made a card based on the first song that came into my head...
Yes, this was designed to be more of a silly card, based off the song rather than the phrase.
:)
Apropos of nothing, I was trying to think what this mechanic would mean. I think it still dies to combat damage and "destroy" effects, but anything with -X/-X or counters (infect/wither) would be ineffective. I don't think it would prevent the counters from being put on it, but they wouldn't have any effect.
The weird interactions come with things like Evil Twin; does the clone have the ability? Ah, rules musings.
Added We Will Rock You.
For Challenge # 076. I knew I wanted to make a double-faced card of this song... but for the life of me, I couldn't quite figure out what to add. I'm just giving up with, what for me, seems like the obvious choice. I'm sure there's something better.
Also, in my head, the best ability for "We are the champions" is to make the creature unblocakable... as in their just running around like idiots, and no one can stop them. But, you know, by the time your opponent already hit you with a bunch of defenders, it's better to call the game right there.
ROFL. Yes, very good idea :)
(Ironically, I always imagine foxes as skinny rather than cuddly, but I still think it's the best option so far.)
Fox. Technically, foxes don't have the same body shape. But I can easily imagine someone on DeviantArt giving a MtG Foxfolk some junkyo in her trunk, yo?
@Link: It's a song by Lonely Island, that treats the expression with (literal) irony. This card is a bit of parody of the song... I think ttt knows this is silver-bordered. Those who haven't heard the song, though... yeah, I'd expect them to say 'ug'.
Personally, though, I've heard better Lonely Island. I think they need a completely new direction to launch their boat. We'll see what the new stuff is like.
Um it's like a bonkers version of Island Sanctuary, total lockdown of yourself in exchange for "I hope they don't have a way to remove enchantments in their deck"
Why is this card?
Is... is this actually a song title? Can I purge it from existence? I hate this phrase with a fiery passion.
Ha! I saw 'Free Bird' and expected something like this:

Sorcery
Put a 0/1 blue Bird token with flying on the battlefield, then draw a card. You may not cast this spell unless you cast a blue spell this turn.
But, on further reflection, I guess that would be the "Buy One, Get One Free Bird". :D

looks up the meaning of rap on wikipedia
According to wikipedia, the "99 problems but a bitch aint one" lyrics were based on an earlier song by Ice T, which talks more about actual relationship problems, but still has a theme of "black people in America have enough to worry about, don't overthink relationship issues". (And despite the very gendered language doesn't seems to generally be pro sex-is-fun-for-everyone.)
Jay Z says he's actually referring to a police dog which didn't search his car for drugs when some police officers illegally stopped him because he was black in verse two.
But I suspect it's referring to more than one thing: the allusion to the earlier song is presumably deliberate, and it probably means something else too.
:)
For Challenge # 076. Hopefully, the way its written means that 613 doesn't apply here.
Mmm. Three isn't one. But I assume that point would be lost on most people.
Funny thing is, if you break down the lyrics of the song... I think Jay-Z is saying "I have a lot of problems too... but you don't see me bitching about it (a bitch ain't one)". He pretty much just says that in the last line. I don't think he's talking about a woman... though, to be honest, he might be.
Oh yes, that's perfect.
YOLO! I'll think of something better later.
Challenge # 076
I like this! It's such a cute interpretation of the title.
LOL, thank you!
I couldn't decide what creature type to use. Human? Mammoth like Siege Mastodon? Dog like Thraben Purebloods? Baby? Anything seemed like it might have been a rather offensive fat joke, alas :( So I left it out until I could think of something better.
Hahahaha. This wins (though the token has no creature type).
For Challenge # 076
