Hm. Yeah, tap to ping an opponent is probably reasonable on a rare land. It's pretty strong, though; doing this on the turns when the ground is stalled is quite some inevitability. I might want to add a cost of
to the ping ability. (I'm treating it as though the draw a card option doesn't exist because, well, against any sane player it doesn't.)
See Broker's Guildhouse.
What can I say. I get stuck on certain themes. :)
Possibly. I thought I actually remembered a mention of fetchlands on the comments, though. Might have been Shared Mind?
Edit: Aha! Hedron Nexus was the card; didn't find it before because it was in the Design Challenge set. "Hurting fetchlands and land-based LD was the goal" that Link admitted to, on 17th September.
(Perhaps the cards you design that are crazily good with fetchlands, like College of Architecture, make up for it? ;) )
Maybe you were thinking of Imperious Scholar.
I suppose you need some way to get rid of this on order to actually benefit from it, so cheaper might be safe.
Hmm. Searching comments makes me think I was thinking of Glimmer of Moonlight, or possibly Liquefy. Neither of which is anywhere as recent as recent as I'd thought, so given the volume of cards you create, no problem :)
Hmm. It's like a Moonring Mirror but you only get the extra cards when this goes away. Might want to be slightly cheaper.
The flavour is great though.
Oh, I didn't know about that. I guess this could just be a cost reduction, then.
Dream Chisel.
I can't find the other card to which you were referring, Alex. I've created enough cards in this set that I can't see them all when I search it for cards I've made.
Yeah, this one feels like the "weakest" to me, but if I come up with something else, than this card will probably be the first to see any changes.
Put Miracle first in the text.
The miracle really needs to come first, so you're not left wondering "What is X?"
This "Doesn't use up the card" cycle is fun; but shuffling it back in feels weak, as does having to use up your mana at the start of the turn; though I guess you know at that point what your draw (wasn't).
My last card in what I consider my very loose cycle of costless cards.
I thought of Boldwyr Heavyweights, but they're just better with Mindlock Orb or Leonin Arbiter or Aven Mindcensor.
As far as things you might play that this would help, I suppose it goes nicely with Boldwyr Heavyweights and maybe Collective Voyage/Veteran Explorer, depending on whether you think ramp or drawing a card is better. Of course, Maralen of Mornsong would be nice.
Scion of the Ur-Dragon becomes 2: draw a card, which is...possibly still less powerful than what a deck built around that card plans to do.
Hee. Nifty. I bet a bunch of people would get confused though and think that this turns opposing Terramorphic Expanses into Dramatic Entrances.
I've been trying to think of cards that would want to see this. Ramosian Sergeant or Cateran Persuader isn't bad.
See Practiced Naysayer.
I forgot to put the effect where when you draw him you reveal him and then put him on top of you library face up. (I might just use Miracle though, and change up the creature type. But then it has the problem of being useless if you get it in your opening hand...
Wait, how do you KNOW it's the top card?
Could make this a miracle, maybe?
