Hello Flying Carpet rider. Or, at least Arabian Night's Flying Carpet rider. I find it very odd that Wizards decided to get rid of an unpopular drawback by pretending it never existed.
I'd say this card has two 'problems'. One is the whole 'sacrifice your creatures' thing, but I assume you like that and that's why you added it. Fair enough. The other problem, though, is that this removes the +1/+0 boost when blocking... which is going to confuse a lot of players. You could have this say they "get +1/+0 and gain trample" when you sacrifice... but then you'll confuse other players who will think the bonus becomes +2/+0. My suggestion? Switch the abilities so that attacking creatures gain trample, then sacrifice for a bonus to power plus trample. Trample's a good ability... but Primal Rage seems to think it isn't that expensive.
Reminds me of Tears of Rage. But even worse.
Increased it to a +2/+0 bonus.
And fixed the first ability to be a trigger.
Aha, a trigger is a very cunning way around the problem jmg identified of losing the bonus when you sac it.
Thanks, hope it makes the card better then. It was being compared to Tears of Rage, so I hope it is at least on par now.
Well, the big benefit this has over Tears of Rage (use triple square brackets to make a link to a printed card) is that it does something without having to sac all your attackers. Namely, it gives them +2/+0 when they're blocked. On its own that's less good than some cards (Nobilis of War, Sword of the Paruns, Patron of the Akki) but it's just 4 mana, and it has the other option for the unusual occasions when you'll need it.
