Okay, I just meant to say that giving first strike is a bit of an awkward hoop in case you don't have a pump effect. Or I might just be thinking about nonexperienced players too much.
In either case, I think the standard would be "Whenever Sandrunner Lion becomes blocked by a creature, that creature gains first strike until end of turn." Longer, but a lot of things in Magic give you the ability to respond no matter how irrelevant (see the Wurm), so this shouldn't be an exception.
Works for me. Not too much precedent of plainswalk in general, so it feels cool.
I may be nitpicking, but White Knight and others set a precedent for 2/2 first strikers Knights with another ability. +1 toughness wouldn't this too powerful and it would make it fit under that model. But nothing really serious, though. Either is fine.
I think SU was pointing out that if no other creatures had first strike, then the first strike combat damage step wouldn't have happened. But I don't think that's enough to worry about in my opinion. Compare with recent creatures like Witherscale Wurm.
This is the way it is because, whilst it is a strong drawback, it can be played around with pumping cards/abilities. Your suggestion would just kill it outright which would make it worse.
Also, it does nothing to the combat step as the blocking creature gains the First Strike upon being assigned which I feel is quite straightforward.
I was aware of the limited use of white shroud but, as you say if just felt very natural on this. As to efficient large creatures, it does sometimes happen. Compare this to Serra Angel at uncommon. It is entirely possible that she would work as a Mythic and I will keep an eye on it.
Witherscale Wurm is rare. :P

In case you were wondering, Brainwash exists. But this is not strictly worse and actually seems okay.
The template is "...can block an additional creature." (See Palace Guard or Echo Circlet.
No Aura gives this ability and it's definitely better if it gives a bonus. Cool.

Nice. I always thought Diving Griffin didn't need double white.
On second thought,
would have been too aggresive. :P Good call.

Cool; now it's a reprint of Youthful Knight.
You are correct,

reset him back to his original of just Plainswalk which is in White's colour pie, just as a secondary or even tertiary ability.
Cut it to 4/6 and attackers get +2/+0. It is specifically meant to help everyones creatures but you are right , with first strike it is crazy.
Changed.
You're right, even the inspiration card Sun Titan returns to battlefield. Change made.
I tend to be somewhat overcautious at times, overcosting or weakening abilities. (much easier to make stronger than weaker).
There are several including another white common that gioves all citizens +1/+0 Peasant Agitator.
And as mentioned above, compare with Seasoned Marshall which was responsible for the idea.
it would be underpriced at
, but a compromise of
seems OK.
Glad you like the concept.
