Because the set already used +1/+1 counters I couldn't give it a growth effect where you put +1/+1 counters on it (which is green) so I reworked it as removing -1/-1 counters with the justification that this was still growth and thus still green. Its blue because its a fish.
I'm actually happier with this version as upkeep fits better than damage for a removal trigger.
I like the idea but I don't see how this is a U/G creature. The ability just doesn't match the colors. The fact that it has -1/-1 counters on it and requires combat damage to remove them is either B/R or mono B.
You don't need "you control", as you can only sacrifice your own permanents anyway. Other than that, this is fine - it's one mana cheaper than Trench Wurm but it's got a hefty additional cost to the ability.
Hm. Actually, not sure what I was thinking: this is still unprintably good. As a turn 1 land, it'll give you three turns of crazy acceleration before anyone's in a position to pay . Perhaps ", Discard a card: Gain control..."?
Well, he hits everyone including you so if you are behind on creatures that won't work.
First Strike represents that he can still deal death up close and personal as well.
Is first strike necessary? I would just cast him, and keep making everyone sac creatures until I was the only one with any left. Then swing. I wouldn't attack with another creature on the board.
Maybe Legendary?
Maybe add a tap to that so someone doesn't abuse it. Next turn everyone's sacrificing 2 creatures. Then swing.

This is a good card. The colors match, the ability is just perfect enough to be balanced yet fun.
