transform trigger
Based on Alex's ((C12420)).
reduced cost
I suggest the day-side minus-2 ability should read "The next time a player casts a spell, counter it." That'll clarify that yes, if you activate it 4 times, all 4 will trigger on the same spell, you don't get to save them up.
This is a very pleasing design, though. The -6 isn't very much of an ultimate; at the moment this looks more like a 4-cost 'walker than a 5-cost one.
Yep, you're right. I ought to be able to "fix" that without too much work; I'll see what I can do.
Wow. That is so much better.
That's awesome. The cards look great! But once again, we run into the problem of limited size previews.
Sorry, looks like turning this cardset into proper DFCs is a somewhat manual task at the moment. I'm afraid I didn't provide a proper migration strategy for entirely-double-faced cardsets :P
EDIT: Naah, never mind, I've done it for you. Hopefully. Tell me if something's wrong!
make DFC
flavor text
It's supposed to be. My bad.
changed type to Griffin
What if you made a green creature in the tradition of uncounterable green creatures, but instead had it enter the battlefield transformed into a weaker version if it would be countered?
I like this, too.
Why isn't this a griffin?
warp -> +1/+1
I've only been using warp counters so far on any of the cards. I guess that's kind of wordy.
I made it get bigger after each fight to capture the flavor of it getting more and more pissed off.
I felt it was more interesting to have "Ok, I can discard a land, and if I do I can still play it - but if I do that it's the last time I can use this. But if I discard something else, I can use this again and try for something better than what I got this time"
Which seemed like a much more interesting decision than "Always discard a land, just like I would if it didn't transform and also let me play that land so in fact it's not really discarding it, is it?"
I assume V is saying that more powerful isn't always more interesting.
There certainly doesn't seem to be any need to use warp counters rather than +1/+1 counters.
The +1/+1 shenanigans feel like their in the way, to me. I think I'd like this to bounce back after fighting... maybe make the base creature a 2/4, and the transformed creature a 4/4?
