This needs some serious templating help. I was originally going to make it transform back when it was the only creature left, but I think that would be too involved.
What's the point without a way to get lands into the graveyard? If you have other ways, it will stay transformed; otherwise, you get your looter back.
Oh, I think I preferred it without.
Oops, I meant to include a way to transform back.
Hee. I particularly like that he loses the ability to loot when he turns into a Crucible of Worlds.
Ha. Multiple lifelink no longer does what you fear it does. It did, for about six months, do that; known as the Genju of the Fields trick. But no, lifelink is redundant in multiples now, like flying.
And yeah, it'll only prevent damage from one attacker; if three 6/6s are hitting you, you'll choose one of them for this to absorb and you'll take the damage from the others. When you compare that to Fog Bank or Darksteel Myr or whatever, it's not exactly overpowered on a 6-mana rare.
Looks to me like it sets up a damage shield that prevents the next thing that hits you. I'm... not sure what happens from multiple combat damage; presumably the attacker chooses which one hits you 'first'. But possibly you get to choose. Either way, I think it needs clearing up on the card. It's a bigass rattlesnake, that's for sure. You could make 'choose a player' be 'current player'. But the current problem is "I don't CARE what the transformed side does, the main side means their biggest thing cannot hurt me. Ever." At least the transformed side isn't indestructible, just lifelinked, flying, firebreathing and and armoured. And oh my ... the transformed side is multiply lifelinked! Does that do what I fear it does?
RE "choose a player": I wanted it to stay as a creature for a round, and transform when it got back to the player's turn who dealt the damage. I thought the way it is now would be easier to word and understand.
RE "prevent that damage": Will it prevent all damage done simultaneously, like a Fog effect during combat? Or can it trigger multiple times? I don't want it to be able to eliminate multiple sources at the same time.
Oooh, right - I was reading it that it only checked the life totals after they discard. (For any reason, but it's got an obvious one built in) Still not utterly horrible, but nasty enough. I still doubt will often be more than though.
V: It doesn't cost the to transform - as written, the transform trigger is a separate ability, that'll trigger the moment it hits the board if the life totals are favourable.
But as you say, that's not necessarily overly powerful on a 6-cost mythic legend.
It does cost a and a creature, and being on more life to activate, and is a cost 6 legendary - at that point in the game, what're the chances you've got any cards in hand anyway?
Powerful, but not utterly horribly "I win and you can't stop me" evil. I like it. Plus it's a creature. I can potentially kill it to get rid of the mindtwistness.
Nice card. Its abilities tell a story, with a nice natural progression. I'm a bit scared of seeing you cast this when you happen to have 1 or 2 life than me, and immediately gain infinite Mind Twist power.
The "choose a player" wording is very odd, but I guess it's so that you can choose whether you want to use this to attack or defend.
The "prevent that damage" is rather harsh. I guess it's fine if someone's winning with a creature swarm, but it seriously obstructs attempts to win with 1 or 2 big creatures or burn spells.
The first side is slightly more wordy than I'd expect. Could it just say "Whenever a nontoken Treefolk or Forest you control is destroyed, return that card from your graveyard to the battlefield"?
Seeing the Dark Ascension checklist card makes me giggle at the prospect of a checklist card for this set :)
Oops. That's a lot.
s/Defending/Blocking/. Otherwise very nice.
Yay, Life and Limb comes back! It'll rather hurt to tap those Forests to use his Overrun, because that's, er, 30 trample power's worth of attackers you'll have tapped for mana. Never have I wanted a Llanowar Druid more.
