This long-standing request is still standing!
Yeah, fair enough. Following the "you could guess what I meant" principle. Good plan.
I admit, it's been a little niggling pain for years. Split cards are the type of card I'm most interested in viewing before posting.
Did I report this already?
(As always, not a big issue, not urgent to fix, but I want to report bugs in case you have time later to do a bunch of UI fixes, or in case one reflects a security issue.)
I would also love this feature
For example, if I try (((c12345))) it appears as a dead link, not Vexing Aethergeller (I capitalized the C in the second try). This also holds for full names: (((cogwork bull))) instead of Cogwork Bull.
I was looking for this too, it would be great if this could happen.
Yeh thats me! I'm Doombringer on the MTGsalvation forums but Reuben Covington in most other places.
I like the second option a lot as most of the time Multiverse is used for more early development, group projects and getting feedback where the pictures isn't always as important but the ability to update quickly and keep track of changes is.
Oh. Yeah, that cardset has way too many cards to show on one list. That's not going to work. The Visual Spoiler does though.
I've been wanting to make improvements to the cardlist for years, but as well as being rather busy, it's also rather a hard problem to figure out what to do.
I'm working on this. I've got a couple of buttons that appear at the top of the skeleton and the cardlist. Needs some careful fiddling to make it work properly with caching, permissions etc, so it's taking longer than I might have hoped. But it's coming.
I just listened to the podcast interview with Inanimate. I didn't realise you were Reuben C from Goblin Artisans!
So one idea I had was that I could just say that if you want to move a set back and forth between MSE and Multiverse, you upload the card artwork to some website (imgur, your own website, Dropbox, whatever). Then Multiverse assumes the card art URL is [server_root]/[card_code].jpg or [server_root]/[card_name].png or whatever. That doesn't really help me when I want to export from Multiverse to MSE though - I'd still need to download all the images to create the MSE file.
Another thing I could do is phrase the operation not as "Export to MSE", but rather as "Update" an existing MSE file from Multiverse. This will keep whatever card artwork is already in the MSE file. You'd upload the MSE file to Multiverse, it modifies it by updating all the rules text, card names/types/etc, and then re-zips it up and lets you download the modified MSE file.
Yeh art MSE2 -> Multiverse isn't really an issue if you allow to set a image directory but your right that it doesn't work the other way around.
Not sure of a good fix their...
Maybe I just need to update MSE2 sometime in the future to support hosted images.
Bugging me about it is completely fine by me :)
I've been wondering, actually. An MSE set and a Multiverse set have a few different assumptions. In particular, Multiverse assumes that the card art and card renders will be hosted on some other website (because I don't want to have to deal with image hosting myself, and the associated collateral such as making sure people don't store porn here). An MSE set assumes the images are included in the archive. That's hard to translate either way round.
I'll just keep bugging you about it every now and then as the inability to exort back and forth between MSE2 is probably the main reason I don't use Magic Multiverse more for my personal sets.
That would be precisely the kind of thing I imagined.
Mmm, I could see providing tickboxes on the cardlist to turn active on/off, and perhaps buttons on the skeleton saying "Mark all cards in skeleton as active" and "Mark all cards not in skeleton as inactive". Would that address your needs?
EDIT: I see now that this is an optional mode for generating boosters. Now that I have discovered this, I want to suggest that it (1.) becomes easier to check/change activation status. (2.) becomes an option that automatically updates activation status dependent on the design skeleton.
Explanation: The multiverse is a great tool to create a set skeleton and fill it out. It will often happen that I have multiple candidates for a certain slot. I probably want to keep both in my cardlist before making a decision which to cut, but during that time will have only one in my skeleton.
(If this is already how it is supposed to work, this should be a
bug report)
Urgh. No, sorry. Been busy with other things. I'll try to take some time to look at this though.
any movement on this?
Thanks. I never noticed the link. And I was remembering my HTML wrong because I tried enclosing the URL with an img tag. xD
already possible
If you click the "Formatting help" button by any edit box, it's got a link from the word "Markdown" to http://stackoverflow.com/editing-help , which has a section on "Images". That syntax should work here.
(If you don't want to go and read it: it's just like an external link but prefixed with an exclamation mark.

Specifically asking because I want to put a details page to show the changes I'm making to my Cube.
When I'm finished with that, I want to erase the old cards to not take unnecessary space, but I still want to show the "before" picture. If it's an official card, I can just use brackets like with Dawn Elemental, but if it was made-up, I won't be able to reference it once I delete it, like with Kjeldoran Mentor.
that would be amazing...
