seems reasonable, but will need a certain amount of work
I know it isn't what Hálian would prefer, but he/she could make two separate sets and duplicate a number of cards into those two sets. This wouldn't be a reasonable solution if Hálian was looking to make five different booster packs, each with their own focus... but it at least seems like a reasonable answer to the temporary problem at hand.
Though, this does raise the question of whether making a feature that duplicates cards is wise. I think we had another discussion on that somewhere, but I'm not sure.
Note to self: This issue will become a lot more urgent when Multidraft can do more than just generate boosters. I need at least to provide a way for Cube-style sets to specify that their default boosters should ignore rarity.
CH says "a set where booster is ["anything", "anything", ...], and each card has a field "slot": "anything" would cause Multidraft to give you a flat distro."
Yay, I found a bug and I never even realised!
E.g. Mirrodin Redeemed. The .Coloured_Artifact rule is being overridden by the .Land.Coloured_Artifact rule.
For example, this comment won't be visible on the front page of this card set recent comment section.
I think @-tagging would be a useful feature.
Vitenka, I'm rolling my eyes at you.
I put forward my utter contempt hate and loathing of this suggestion. This isn't twitter, ffs!
Yeah, I've reached the same conclusion about (((/[[[ myself. Both halves of it. It was originally meant to nicely match the formatting that draw3cards.com uses, but that site has gone the way of the dodo. I agree, if I add tagging it'll be in the form of @username.
@-format as is used in stackexchange-type sites may be a better choice of formatting. I dislike the (((/[[[ formatting for links myself (I'd rather it be two for links and three for images but it's far too late to change that!).
Mmm, "backlink search", aka "what links here". Makes sense.
The way to do it would be to make it that when anyone creates or edits a comment linking to other cards, at that point I go and update the other cards' lists of "what links to me".
It is indeed possible to do this manually, by searching comments for the card name or the card number, but quite a bit more fiddly.
I don't know anything about programming/coding. I fear this might be a lot of work. It just seems like it might be a neat feature.
This can sort of be done by hand already, of course. I didn't know what color to make it.
It would be nice to be able to mention someone whose attention you want to gain. If you implemented notifications, tagging users would be useful, like tagging people on Facebook.
When I post from my phone, em dashes are quite easy. When posting from my computer, I just use ALT code (ALT+ 0151).
Oh cool. No rush, I doubt it makes much difference, but I thought I should report it.
Nope, not just for you :/
I've found and fixed this locally, but not rolled out the fix yet. Shouldn't take long, just a matter of when I get a moment to deploy & test.
As discussed on Hall of Heroes, that is. I wonder if I should allow hyperlinks in card text?
no action planned
"Easier to remember" - Note that every card editing page has a reminder by the side of the syntax for every mechanic in the set, though.
I started to make a suggestion; it ended up looking like MU* code.
It wold be nice to automatically have the fdifferent forms of abiltiies autogenerated. Maybe just put additional boxes on the "add a mechanic" page, with auto-suffixes on the mechanic names, and example.
I think if people had consistent names for the alternate forms of mechanics, it'd be easier to remember.
So when adding a mechanic, I'd initially see: mechanic /1 /2 : You may pay /1 to /2
mechanic_alt /1 /2 : You may /1, if you do then /2
So... trying to figure out what the actual enhancement request is here. You understand that it's possible to have two or three "mechanics" in Multiverse to represent abilities with two or three different syntaxes or reminder texts. That's equivalent to the way Wizards do it: the same mechanic will have different reminder text in different circumstances. (E.g. Ivory Giant vs Divine Congregation vs Lotus Bloom: one has "it has haste", two have "you may", one has neither.) I don't think you're asking to somehow be able to condense those three reminder texts into one mechanic that somehow detects circumstances about the card it's one and chooses which reminder text to have.
I think the case of kicker is entirely identical. Citanul Woodreaders vs Ana Battlemage vs Blood Tribute: two say "pay an additional", one says "and/or", one says neither (but transforms its parameter to lower case, a quirk that'd be hard to make Multiverse handle without special-casing it). You can actually already combine the one- and two-parameter versions into one mechanic (with 1 parameter): Kicker
(You may pay an additional
as you cast this spell.) and Kicker
and/or
(You may pay an additional
and/or
as you cast this spell.) will both display the correct reminder text if you set it to "You may pay an additional \1 as you cast this spell." The nonmana version would need to be a different mechanic in Multiverse terms because it has completely different reminder text: [KickerNonmana tap an untapped Vampire you control] with reminder text "You may \1 in addition to any other costs as you cast this spell."
SO... that's the current solution Multiverse offers; which I think does allow you to do most of what you'd want. So I think this request must be asking somehow to combine those two mechanics into one, somehow making a single mechanic detect that it doesn't need "pay an additional" but needs to add "in addition to any other costs".
How are you thinking this should work? Would you like the mechanic editor to provide multiple options for reminder text, with customisable conditions by the side such as "Is a creature" (suspend's "gains haste"), "Has a mana cost" (suspend's "you may"), "Parameter is purely mana symbols" (kicker), "Card's rules text contains the phrase 'as an additional cost'" (Gaze of Justice vs regular flashback reminder text), and so on?
Looks somewhat better now. Still wants the holograph moving down to next to the rarity symbol, but otherwise okay, I think?
E.g. War Plan, Sky Marshal,
Edit: Huh. Seems that double-paren links do work but triple-paren ones don't.
