Unfortunately, though, this is still a problem in IE9.
Although anyone using IE 8 or earlier should really, really try visiting Multiverse in Firefox, Safari or Chrome. It looks soo much better.

This would let us provide faction marks like in the Scars of Mirrodin block cards like Steady Progress, guild watermarks like in Ravnica block cards like Dimir Guildmage, and mana symbols on basic lands like Island.
This would be a lot of work, but I can definitely see the benefits.
At the moment you can use the "Plain" tab at top-left to see the text, but that means you lose the nice formatting. This isn't a high priority, but it would be nice.

There are complications to this. What happens if you copy your mechanic from Set1 to Set2, then update it in Set1? What if you update it in Set2 but don't have permission to administer Set1?
Nonetheless, it's a reasonable suggestion.
This is a known problem. I'm planning to add something similar to the mechanics page where a cardset admin can define a text string like "{E}" and the URL of the image it should expand to.
This is a definite problem. Tokens like Thopter currently look horrible. I want to fix this.
