I love the flavour text.
Yeah. I was thinking of "if ~ is in your graveyard at the beginning of your upkeep, win the game if..." but I can't think of any good wording.
Of if it can't be a sorcery or an enchantment, maybe it could be a creature or an artifact?

You think? It's less than a full Orrery - it only applies to sorceries. Other creatures at RR include Stigma Lasher, Blood Knight and Warren Instigator, all of which have effective 2 power and pretty strong effects. Do others think the power here is too high? I'm sure I could make him a 2/2 for 2R, but I might prefer not to.

Hmm. Well I could make it an enchantment, like the other alternate win conditions, but it's black, and black in this set is sorceries (and instants). An enchantment should be green (or white). But I guess you're right.
This is the first name that feels more like a design name than a finished product. For an artifact, it feels very red; however, it might do even better on blue or white defensive bodies.
And not with (((Ecriot Concealer))) either, since it explicitly states "GY"

Yeah, this is a huge example of "If you haven't read the spoilers, you just lose now, thanks, with no idea it is coming."
It really needs to have some kind of countdown.

Ah, with type-changing cards. No, because none of them can target exiled cards.

Or indeed to use them at all. If anything they're too small for that drawback.

Such a massive body for the cost, until you realize how hard it would be to use them as a one-drop.

I don't think it's too bad. It doesn't do anything at all until you drop an enchantment after it. I'd like to see how it plays before changing it, at least.
Fair comment. It actually wasn't originally legendary - I just made it so (and upped the power a bit) when three of the other gold rares became legendary. I'll see if I can find another design for him.

The flavor text belies the fact that this could be a serious powerhouse. Is it balanced? Would it be more balanced with a single counter per trigger?

Well, as much of a counterspell as drain power, which is often good enough. Locks them out for a turn if they've got an 'x' or a repeatable '1' ability anywhere on the table.

V's idea is good too.
