Yes, I know you want to re-use this, but it would probably be better for the game as a whole to remove the bounce effect. If your alpha strike doesn't kill its target, then bouncing the aura can only lead to despair or frustration. If it does kill the defender, then you either don't need the bounce ability, or you've just painted a big target on your dome.
Yeah, all soldiers who ride flying things have type Human (or their other race type). Skyknight Legionnaire, Skyhunter Cub, Knight of Sursi, etc. I'll agree it seems a little odd, but it's what Wizards do.
I agree entirely. It is exactly a Sorcery Dark Banishing, so costing Banishing-minus-1 seems right - but I certainly wouldn't pick it as highly as DB or DB.

I feel weird about a Human with flying, but the kitesail reference sort of makes up for that.

Could be. I can't think of one though. A bunch of useful possibilities, but nothing over-strong. Stoneforge Mystic and Auriok Windwalker can bypass equip costs, and I think the free mana is less of an issue when the untap only happens once per turn, at the end of your turn.
In-set options to get him to actually work: Scimitar of Wastefulness, Nature's Aid, or best of all, Uniscape Bracers. Out of set, a pinger aura is probably best.

There has to be a way to break this, between free mana, pseudo-vigilance, and/or bypassing expensive equip costs.
Hmm, that's not good.
Hmm. Perhaps I should try to find a sensible alternative wording, then. I'll give it some thought.

The combination of name and abilities makes me think more superhero than Magic.

That's pretty much precisely what I was going for :) Sometimes you'll want to use the rage, sometimes you won't.
The ability compares very well with that of the Journeyman. Curiously, the Master is better for long games, but the Journeyman is better in aggressive decks.

It takes a second to realize that the rage counter is simply a memory device. Given that it counts your opponents' lands, I can see trample being so worth the sacrifice. On the other hand, Timmy is more likely to stick with sheer size.

But it steals it every turn. As you say, they can steal it back temporarily.
You think? It's less than a full Orrery - it only applies to sorceries. Other creatures at RR include Stigma Lasher, Blood Knight and Warren Instigator, all of which have effective 2 power and pretty strong effects. Do others think the power here is too high? I'm sure I could make him a 2/2 for 2R, but I might prefer not to.
