Design a 1-cost planeswalker; that is, a planeswalker with a converted mana cost of 1.
In Gentlemen magicians I made some lands that used the planeswalker loyalty mechanic (http://multiverse.heroku.com/cardsets/5/cardlist for a cardlist, it's hard to search for those specifically because they don't have a separate subtype), the idea being they had the loyalty mechanic, but were not as mythic as planeswalkers. I didn't finish playtesting, so most require extensive revision, but I really liked how they played (several other people disagreed).
I think the difference here is that a 1-cost planeswalker should feel mythic and gamechanging and have an effect which is immediately relevant, but not be overpowered (or worse, "like Jace but worse"). Which I'm interested in too, I'll write something later this week.
I challenged myself to make a 1-cost planeswalker. It's very underwhelming, much like the actual Tibalt was in his first appearance. Tibalt, The Betrayer
I'm saving my more out-of-the-box challenge for a little later.
Mine are: Algar the Bountiful, Malazar, the Ephemeral, Sakashima the Deceiver

I made Evoar, the Servile and forgot to post that I did so.
Added Squee, the Squee. If you're an immortal goblin, you'd figure that someday you'd turn into a planeswalker. At least occasionally...
Argesh of the Diamond Kind of wondering about that last ability, but I figure, "If you can live long enough to make it work, why not?"
And, very belatedly, Jace Awakened :)
Ajani, Herder of Cats!

Kate, Uktabi Naturalist, from "choose a random challenge and make a card inspired by a random magic card for it".
Six years later I see when I thought six months was "belated" :)
