See Challenge # 112. Roamer-inspired land. I had more stuff on this earlier, but the site wasn't working and now I'm really tired.
Worried about power level, so I made it a sorcery.
It would be difficult to differentiate them and cram them all into a set, that's for sure. Making 4-color cards at common to convey the factions would be quite difficult, too. But hey, someday a set has to produce 4-color legends for EDH.
So we have Velorn as non-blue and Teruga as non-red. I can see Rohn as non-green, and Sahala as non-black. Does that leave Roamers as non-white? I didn't imagine them that way, but now I can see it: not forming large communities, but still exploring, passionate and individualistic. Although I agree, I love that the civilisations can be parsed like that, but in real magic making four-colour civilisations is not normally plausible.
No reason for that! Throw in your ideas and they might stimulate more ideas from the rest of us :)
FWIW I don't think it's a good idea for a set overall to have factions that are four-coloured. But as a way of stimulating ideas it's okay.
I think there's been plenty of time for people to share different ideas, I think it's high time you got to share some of yours, and they won't influence other people's interpretation of your set now.
Wow, the two four colour charms really do fit their civilisations well, I hadn't thought of them as four colour at all, but it fits surprisingly well!
I've created Velorn Command and Terugan Command.
I poured over the flavor I made for Teruga while making Terugan Command, and I tried to find four different aspects of the culture that I created there. It was a happy accident that they all worked so well together and that in fell into the colors others have given Teruga so far.
Velorn Command came about because I realized I'd made a four-color command for Teruga, and I started to wonder what other civilization might be four colors. Its genesis was far more mechanical than Terugan Command (and more mechanical than it should have been for the challenge), but I think I like the end result, and I think it fits pretty well with Velorn's flavor.
See Challenge # 112.
I'll try to be done after this one.
Added "each of" to first mode for clarity.
Nice "training for superiority" flavour.
Yeah, but I only like that one. :P
It combos with the last one, too.
I love how the first ability combos with the next two. Very nice.
See Challenge # 112.
I know I probably shouldn't enter my own challenge, especially since not everyone has entered/finished entering yet... but I wanted to.
Reminds me of Last-Ditch Effort.
Owch! Very nice. Like half of Gather Specimens. Curious that most of the time this will work like Essence Scatter... but so did Cradle to Grave.
Use the wording from Vines of Vastwood which could be used to prevent opposing combat tricks. Or just grant shroud :P
Not with that wording. Try "Target creature gains protection from its controller UEOT," or "target creature can't be the target of spells or abilities your opponents control UEOT."
