No, it's supposed to try each one in turn and stop when one succeeds. Edited for clarity, I hope.
The way I'm reading this, if the creature is destructible, it passes the first conditional and won't set it off, but then it's obviously not in exile so you get to damn the board. Is that supposed to happen?
Commanders?
What SM is trying to say I think is that this should say "An ending phase occurs" rather than "An end step occurs". The "ending phase" consists of "end step" (which is when "At EOT" things trigger) and "cleanup step".
I don't think there's anything that would come back from exile automatically, in the middle of the resolution of another spell...
Ring of invisibility my hairy foot.
Sassen frassen moving phases around...
That stuff happens in the cleanup step, not the end step.
Love it.
I was thinking things that come back from exile, mainly. Not sure I like it going big-boom if it's just mistargeted.
Wow. Heee. That'd be... really silly to do in, say, the middle of combat.
:) I like it. Unfortunately there aren't many cases which will cause the creature to not be exiled, as most of them will cause this spell to be countered. How about adding "~ can't be countered"? That way if someone (even you) bounces or flickers the target, you get the big boom. As it is now it'll be countered on resolution.
Back to the original theme of insufficiently controlled power.
As commented in chat - this would of course be completely and utterly broken, since it allows infinite taps and makes a prodigal sorcerer an instant win. It looks like it would work pleasingly well though, so maybe if it just cost enough....
Can you do ~? Templating as usual probably completely wrong, but the intent is hopefully clear. You get everything from an 'end turn' except for the 'and now the next player's turn starts' bit.
Good point about the power. I still think giving them a blocker which they can then exchange for your best attacker is a reasonable exchange. Compared to other 'just plain steal it' combat tricks, and this one they can see coming. It's breakable (all my attackers fly!) and re-un-breakable (so I give this wall I stole flying too...) and so forth.
Oh, I definitely wasn't suggesting you should be swapping when attacking. The charm of this card is in the fact that it only swaps when blocking. I just feel like you should give your opponent something they can use after you swap.
On a separate side note, assuming you keep this a Defender, I would suggest making it 0 power. Since, if it can only block, and when it blocks it swaps sides, the 1 Power will only confuse people into thinking it will somehow deal damage. Or, you could go nuts and give this 6 power or something, for similar reasons.
Avarice Totem, that's it. (Gauntlets aren't reciprocal)
Looking for the artifact you're talking about, I'm guessing it was Gauntlets of Chaos? Could also be Avarice Totem.
