  Hm, rather breaking the cycle if this one has an activated ability and the others don't. Plus the Night of Souls' Betrayal effect is plenty powerful enough without having another removal ability on top of that.

  The rest of the cycle are way too good for common. Maybe this could stay at uncommon with the rest of them and have double the effect, turning into another reprint of Castle / Builder's Blessing?

  I can very much see why you don't want it to be blinkable. But I'm afraid it still is.

  If you want to prevent it being blinked, one of the best ways is to have the trigger say "When ~ ETBs, if it was cast from your hand, it deals..."

  Yikes! Some of this cycle have the "~ ETBs with a +1/+1 counter for each time" wording, and some of them say "When ~ ETBs, put a +1/+1 counter on it for each time". Those two phrases are horribly similar and yet one case counts the current one where the other doesn't. That's going to be way too confusing; you need to sync them all up.

  Though that just becomes a really expensive fog too. I guess "flash of the Occult" can also be "flashed" to scare creatures out of combat xD

  I want to make it 4 CMC, but I feel like it'll be too powerful in what it does at uncommon. Black has a theme of ETB triggers while white has a theme of upkeep matters =P soooo
