this is supposed to fill a slot of cards that are ok in one color, but get better in two. does
1/1 first strike recruit
sound good?
i like the idea of it also scrying when it etbs, but i could see it being a lot simpler without that.
hmm. i think it feels pretty white to me, but i'm open to suggestions.
yeah, we'll see what happens when i get to making red cards.
mm, i think i might make it a strictly better mind rot. because cube.
i like that idea, updating
Mmm true
hmm so should i change it back?
Hmm. Move the counters to only one target creature maybe?
That would be better in concept. But judging by the card,
is completely fine and probably weak. If you want it to be better, try giving first strike.
jmgariepy: It's a Cube.
This is slightly better. But why not just "whenever it blocks" period?
The effect. It's almost sacrificing a creature to kill another one. So Bone Splinters.
The idea doesn't bother me. Just push it a bit more.
Sure, although it would be totally unplayable without red. If you care about that, maybe Mind Rot numbers would be better.
I'm not sure if it gets more exciting. It's like Caravan Vigil. It's one mana cheaper and if you try very hard, it's Rampant Growth.
On the other hand, how about making it cost

or something like that, and have the synchronize create a second copy? (And letting both have new targets.)
It's close, but note that I didn't use target. You can see the same in Breaking // Entering. That's because you choose targets before anything happens. So if you flip an awesome Grave Titan you would have already chosen your target and feel bad.
You don't have to change your design just because someone did the same. It happens a lot.
I mean, for one, making your opponent draw is a lot worse.
No, it's not a matter of this card. That ability is way too strong. Try to see how you can dial it down.
Aren't Strix specifically those etherium owls from Esper?
You know, I kind of like etb or blocking. It's obviously not on the same level as the Titans, but it's got that 'could you imagine' feel to it.
Though, it's also got the potential of creating locked board among inexperienced players, who can't seem to figure out that sometimes it's okay to concede a minor advantage to their opponent. I'd be careful about putting too much of that at common.
A bird without flying?
Mm, can't hurt.
Should this have the Edgewalker clause?
