Funny how innocuous Affinity for Artifacts looks when put in a vacuum. Who would have thought a card like Somber Hoverguard would be a monster in one of the most destructive decks in Magic?
ah, so it is. almost.
So... it's Somber Hoverguard?
Hee. A fun idea. It'd be broken in most situations (e.g. Arc-Slogger, Divining Witch), but in a cube it's merely cool.
scrapping vector. i might try again later when i have more experience, but it's too difficult to develop for me right now.
Appeals to the same kind of deck as Dream Thief, which is great fun in a deck with Gitaxian Probes. This is very similar, giving up flying for the extra scry 2.
Doesn't seem great - but hey; it's a not '''too''' terrible 3-drop that doesn't completely embarrass you later on. And scry+draw is always a lovely combo; I can see a lot of "Um, uh.. ok; random cheap spell, and this - let's see if my third spell can save me."
Toughness Vector (one) won't do anything most of the time. Whether the creature dies in combat or via burn, it'll distribute 0 counters. It's only if it's sacrificed or directly destroyed that you get anything from it.
Toughness Vector Two is pretty interesting. I note that a random 1/1 with TV2 is better than Festering Goblin, and a 3/3 with TV2 is quite a lot better than Mudbutton Torchrunner. Targeted Vector (what you have at the moment) is fairly similar.
Delightful card, with a really interesting decision built in. Starts off pretty small but grows really fast really quickly (by the first time he attacks he's a 7/7!)
