I'm not sure this is cool. Changing the targets is normally a given for these effects.

Do you think I could push the cost more to make it more appealing?

I'm not sure if it gets more exciting. It's like Caravan Vigil. It's one mana cheaper and if you try very hard, it's Rampant Growth.

On the other hand, how about making it cost {1}{u/r}{u/r} or something like that, and have the synchronize create a second copy? (And letting both have new targets.)

i like that idea, updating

This is now so much better than Twincast and Reverberate. It should definitely cost more.

But Twincast and Reverberate are very situational. I approve reducing the cost until they are easy to play because they always be difficult to play.

That said, copying your own spell seems a very easy way to trigger synchronize, so just for that you could try {1}{u/r}{u/r}.

I meant to change the cost the first time around but I guess I forgot!

I love the art.

Double Fork for only one more? Sign me up! It's been too long since games were decided with a turn four Lightning Bolt.

I've always thought of Reverberate as a red Counterspell that I'll probably never use.

how often is it NOT the second spell you cast, given the nature of this spell?

.... that's a really good point and i feel stupid. i mean i guess you could be using to target an opponent's spell, but... oops

I thought you had realized that and done it one purpose.

Yes; it works out fine. It gives a lesser effect copying an opponents spell, and the bigger effect if you plan it and use it yourself - and also nicely hints that you're not supposed to use it with storm. I like it.

But yow; Zap. And to follow - ZapZAP. Punchy! No WAY this should be common. Rare. Mayyybe uncommon.

Cube :)

Yeah... I think in cube sets it'd be simpler if people could use either "no rarity" or just "rare", even though the rarity field is generally ignored, because I do also find myself looking at a card and going "Nice, but no way it's common" before I glance up at the cardset name and go "wait... no, it's okay, it's a cuuuube, it's not really common".

What is wrong about using this with a storm card?

Nothing; it's just nice that it doesn't automatically go huge with repeated castings, or casting it on itself; or casting it at the end of a storm chain.

It doubles, rather than trebles, in those situations - a hint that you're better off using it properly, to cast a single spell three times; or to singly copy an opponents spell; rather than trying to go huge with it.

Going huge isn't always a bad thing; and this doesn't try to put a huge block in the way of doing so - it just gently nudges you a bit. And I like it.
