You're right, -1 is probably enough (giving everyone Vigilance is, it turns out, a surprisingly cheap effect), especially if I decide to make the tokens hasty (rather than striky) and self-exiling as I originally intended.
The -3 has an annoying duplication / antisynergy with the first ability (giving first strike to things with first strike). It also seems a bit much to take out the whole 'walker for that effect (-3 on a 3-loyalty walker); maybe either make it grant double strike or take the cost down to -2 or -1?
I love the ultimate though; pleasingly snowbally :)
I was aware of Martial Coup, but it just seemed like 5 was the most elegant number.

Just to be obnoxious, the name would be "Nixilis's", see Rakdos's Return. Unless there are in fact multiple Ob Nixilises (Nixili?) which honestly sounds awesome.
The Leyline mechanic is really the one thing that makes this work for me, because discard becomes truly threatening (As Thoughtseize prominently demonstrates) when the format includes a cheap discard effect. Loxodon Smiter is a nice anti-discard in the abstract, but ultimately does nothing against a turn 1 Toughtseize.
Well, it'd be very slightly better - forcing them to not deal damage with a Hypnotic Specter rather than just being slightly annoyed that the discard portion of it fails.
The Loxodon works (when it works, I've never actually seen it) because it's an unexpected trap.
So... maybe this needs morph? Leyline morph? That seems kinda unreasonable.
That'd be functionally the same. The opponent would never ever fire off a discard spell at you if you had that out. (I guess it makes Liliana of the Veil a bit worse.)

Solid, but doesn't seem like it'd be worth mulliganning to get.
