Assuming you're not in a set where bouncing lands is useful, I guess yeah, seems pretty poor.
Hm? This isn't painland style? This is...kinda awful actually. It's only any good once you're out of lands in hand, otherwise it kills your tempo horribly. I think this could add rainbow on the second ability without being overpowered.
Ah! I'd forgotten that cycle too, somehow, that's an even better expression (although it doesn't work for enemy colours).
Oh yes, I forgot about Golgari Guildgate and friends. I still think of them as the Coastal Tower cycle, but that only existed for allied colours, and I completely blanked on the Guildgates! But yes, that's what I meant!
I was momentarily confused by the reference to the tribal land, but I know what you mean :) People wouldn't like a plain "ETB tapped, no upside" land, but it would make it easier to have a name to refer to in this sort of conversation. I think now I'd usually call them "gates" as outside RTR that's basically what they are.
Very nice. Sometimes it's Gilt-Leaf Palace without Elves, sometimes it's Darigaaz's Caldera without
; so that's a bit worse in both cases, but getting your choice between them is rather excellent.
Oh, that's an interesting idea. It can either be an ETB tapped dual, or a land that fixes your mana without accelerating you (but slightly better than ones that cost "
,
" because it sets you back a turn, but not a land card, but worse because those mostly produce any colour).
It looks like an interesting idea to me, but I'm too cross-eyed to see if it's strictly better or strictly worse than something else.
Honestly, I have NO idea. Some sort of land that requires a bounce for making mana made sense, but maybe it should ETB untapped? I just came up with Defiled Forest #2 on that premise.
It's an interesting idea, I like the potential. Isn't it almost strictly worse than Golgari Rot Farm though? Or is repeated-bouncing too strong with lands with an ETB effect?
upkeep instead of end so the exile has an actual effect on the board
I guess it depends how much "stuff to be piled on" there is in the set. I don't see any need for this to be 2/1 though.
Well, I'm assuming this is the kind of Triton Shorestalker that is meant to have stuff piled on, and little nips still cumulate. 2/1 seems a little too good for this, unless you want it to be pushed.
Going unblocked this only hits for 1 though. Which is therefore what it will do most of the time. Unless there's actually Battalion in the set, which would make for rather interesting choices on the opponent's part of what to remove etc.
That is rather funny. Half the time it's Paralyzing Grasp, sometimes it's... some weird Control Magic that stops you attacking with the creature which will often still be worth it, and occasionally (say if you have a Fatestitcher around) it's pretty much as good as Control Magic on its own. Very cool.
