I think that's fine. There's a slight question what happens if the land had shroud (say due to Trace of Abundance), but I think apart from that it all works fine. This Aura isn't a spell, so it's treated just like an Aura entering the battlefield via something like Replenish.
It's an interesting idea, but Auras require targeting while on the stack, but lands don't use the stack.
If land had won the YMTC vote, this was what I would have submitted. I almost wanted to submit it for enchantment as well (until they color-strained the vote), but this would have been really dull for the amount of potential the slot had, so I ended up shifting Renewal Retinue into a black enchantment and submitting that.
I still like this.
That casting cost or less would put a bit of randomness into this... of course, that is assuming you want the randomness, and not the option for a toolbox card. I'm also starting to think that Polymorph would make a cool spell if it cost ...
I like this, though of course it's very easy to find things if you only have one card at each CMC.
This one's probably not printable simply because it's just as horrible with Orim's Chant/Silence as Staying Power was. (Staying Power is the most broken Unhinged card after Frankie Peanuts.)
But rules-wise and templating-wise, yeah, this doesn't seem unprintable at all.
Could you see cards playing around with stuff like the cleanup step after all? Obviously a cleanup of Staying Power, even if the text suggests it's a messy card.
Team up for the Warez Bear SHARE!
Shouldn't that be RIAA Bear?
I think jmg meant that scavenge and unleash don't necessarily work well together.
Huh. Rachael found (admittedly this was Sealed rather than Draft) that a few Rakdos commons were just what her Golgari deck needed to survive to the long game.
Heh. I suppose they could have also gone with "All creatures gain Unleash". Let me tell you... after drafting Return to Ravnica for the first time, I found out that Golgari/Rakdos is a poor combination...
They completely missed a chance for this design space. Maybe set 3 will rectify that.
as a transform, it has the potential of flipping back from multiple simultaneous card draws, but I can at least push back the bombo from 4 counters to 6
I expected this to be a leyline that searched out over leylines. I really wish that leyline was a subtype.
Okay, so the name is pretty silly. But the name describes exactly what it does, and that card seems like an ideal one for this treatment (apart from the first couple upkeep triggers being decidedly pointless). Why didn't they go with that for one of the Leyline cycles?
The flavour text raises the question, what's the difference between humiliation and humility?
Did I ever talk about my original plan for this card having ": Turn ~ face down. As long as it remains face down, each other non-Aura enchantment is a creature with power and toughness equal to its converted mana cost in addition to its other types."?
Wow, that would have been mean.
it's an Aura, so letting it add Z should be fair
