clarify no tokens
Most tokens can't actually be "sacrificed" this way, since casting them would involve paying the blank mana cost. (Though to be less confusing, that could do to be spelled out on the card.)
And who needs Shriekmaw when you can have Journey to Nowhere? The timing's even more flexible that way, if you don't mind storing one of the creatures where it can come back.
Well, some of them trigger on LB, but that makes them more expensive. Shriekmaw is pretty good with this: it lets you pay for Terror as many times as you wish.
Evokers get kinda interesting too. Or, no - they all trigger on ETB. Drat.
Amongst the other, less-insane interactions: It makes temporary control change effects permanent (like Bazaar Trader). Except for tokens; there it just lets you sacrifice a token for no benefit or cost. It lets you keep Ball Lightning alive at an upkeep of . Sadly it doesn't let you save Unearthed creatures like Hellspark Elemental from being exiled.
Huh. Surprised that wasn't printed before, that's really nice.
Also no, these weren't designed with specific trademarked heroes in mind. They're just an unexpectedly friendly set of...well, super friends!
The problem there is card space. The top two abilities can squeeze into one-third of the standard 3-stripe PW box, but if the damage-handling ability takes up more than one line (at MSE font sizes, anyway) that no longer fits.
A lot of players would have problems handling innate creature planeswalkers no matter how you phrase them, so I wouldn't worry about seeing a card like this pop up in a booster pack near you for as long as they're still focusing their priorities on capturing new players.
I really like this. It's just so... fun.
Wouldn't "If damage would be dealt to CARDNAME,prevent that damage and remove that many loyalty counters from her" make more sense? I think a lot of players would have problems understanding what exactly "marked on her" means.
finally the flip card she deserves
now a flip card
I would update this to use the new flip card support, but I'm going to bed.
fix to use the new split card support :)
Even better. If you go second, wait until turn three, watch your opponent play his third land, then play Split Decision on your turn, your opponent sacs two land, and you sac one. Then you can play your third land for the turn... putting you up 2 land to 1 land...
Owch. If I'm on four land and you cast "Everyone sacs half their land", I'd find that fairly oppressive. Not as bad as Armageddon, sure, but probably nastier than Plow Under (though late-game Plow Under is far more obnoxious).
The idea is actually that it's half a Wrath of God, but in such a way that it can't just be used as spot removal for a single creature.
It also makes me wonder the right cost for a variant of this that would hit lands instead of creatures. A spell like that would be a welcome check for excessive ramp, without being the suppressive force that led to an easing up on land destruction to the point where it's almost nonexistent these days.
And still moderately playable. Indeed nice.
A creature-only Balance that is....well...balanced. Nice
I don't know why, but I always read this as Goatcloud STRANGLER :-)
Where "few days" appears to be "few weeks". Er, sorry once again. There you go.
Sorry it's taken me so long to get Phyrexian mana symbols onto Multiverse. I'll get there in the next few days.
