It would help if assorted colored counters were a more pervasive thing than they are, to alleviate memory issues with cards like this.

Niice. So for 0 life it's Cave (goes in Kozilek EDH). For 2 life it's Sacred Foundry... or any one of its cycle... that might be a bit good. The Cave option replaces the Coastal Tower option. For 5 life it's a City of Brass that you pay 5 payments' worth up front and then it's free after that.

Looks very good, possibly a bit on the strong side. But very nice idea.

Funny thing is, most of the time, most players will pay 1 life. In fact (except when being able to shuffle on command is important to your deck, and fetching non-basics with basic land types) this is superior to Polluted Delta. I don't think many players really need lands to produce two mana... they just need a land to produce the right mana right now, and dual lands do that ipso facto.

That's not going to always be true of course. Pack enough colored activations and CCDD creatures, or play a five color deck and you're going to need a dual land. In a normal three color deck like Zoo or Jund, though, this is the rough equivalent of a tri-land that costs 1 life when you play it.

Agree with all that; but the option to be able to use it as the mana you want, or if you draw it as your only colour source, to have both up-front... very nice.

Yeah. You're getting so much flexibility with very little drawback.

I hate to suggest it but... maybe ditch the {1} option? That way there's at least SOME potential drawback. (Though it still obsoletes the shock-lands)

Well... not entirely. It obsoletes the shocklands on turns 1-4 (simplifying), but late-game shocklands tend to ETBT rather than costing life. Of course, by that stage you've got your colours, and at the moment you could still use this for colourless, so it's better late game than a shockland... yow. Yes, it really does need to either lose the {1} or ETBT, doesn't it?

Maybe change the wording to "When ~ etb, pay one or more life, and choose...". that should get rid of the awkward "Why can't I add colorless question.

remove colorless

That's better. Still very, very good - reminiscent of Cavern of Souls - but probably printable.

Wouldn't it have the multicolour land frame?
