The deathtouch was meant to be permanent. Admittedly, I don't know if I can do that just by having it enter with a morbid trigger. Morbid-deathtouch UEOT?
Is the "or" a joke? I meant "if," but probably swiped poorly and my phone recorded "of."
I didn't want another Rebuke but with a different name. I figured the easiest way to differentiate was to up destroy to exile (which wouldn't trigger set-up for or trigger opponents' morbids), but guessed exiling would be at least one mana more. I mean, I'd be fine with this being if that seems more reasonable.
Frozen was a top-down mechanic, going off of the idea of something freezing and thawing. At least since Frozen checks for nonsnow it's not parasitic (the other snow mechanic checks to see if you played another snow spell, which is more in-set, but worse out of set).
Snowfall is a fine design, but conveys the opposite flavor (it could replace Avalanche though).
I could adjust to your most recent suggestion. It removes the fun word change from Frozen to Thaws, but would be simpler. I guess my worry then becomes repeatability.
Edit: Putting a "the first time you cast a nonsnow spell..." would clear that up.
It's pretty rough. I kinda wished there was some better flavor to wrap it around to express the states and how and when they switch.
From mechanical standpoint, I would not have a state that is temporarily turned off, but rather one that comes online temporarily. Ie. prowess.
So I would consider some simplified version such as:
> Name — Whenever you cast a nonsnow spell, (effect).
Have you also considered / are you aware of "Snowfall"? See Lady of the Snow for example.
I mean, it's pretty weird that currently the snow mechanic encourages playing it with large amount of nonsnow stuff.
What's the point of this gaining deathtouch when it enters? I don't even see any cards that would grant haste.
Also, "or" instead of "of".
Somewhat overcosted by most measures IMO, but yeah - people will still be picking it in limited.
Unfreezing (I'd rather go with thaws) is only until the end of turn. How would you include that in your wording?
Wut? Is it just me or this mechanic really confusing?
When is it frozen? Does it enter frozen?
When you cast a nonsnow spell it thaws UEOT... Is it then unfrozen? Will it / can it later on be refrozen? Is there no marker to keep this state in memory?
When does "Whenever thaws" trigger? When the nonsnow spell is cast or at the end of that turn when the spell was cast?
If I'm getting this right, I would trim it into
> This enters frozen. When you cast a nonsnow, noncreature spell, it unfreezes.
Forgot middle lines
See Nulun, Grim Idol's lore.
Inspired by that X-Files episode.
Prior to the Cold, Ulaqat had 5 iconic creatures venerated by its people. When the cold came, the other four iconic creatures died. The praise of mortals was something Nulun craved so much that he found a way to survive the Cold for both himself and his followers. While Nulun was instrumental in humanity surviving, many areas of civilization have either abandoned his worship or downplayed the more wicked aspects of Nulun's character.
Out of lore, Nulun is inspired Satanic imagery and themes in black metal. The indestructibility from sacrificing a creature is meant to evoke an evil ritual where one would invoke a demon.
Flying was included because it's common on non-Kamigawa demons in modern magic. The final ability was added because Nulun wasn't feeling mythic yet.
I can't figure out how to move cards into the skeleton.
