I like this - it hints that city is not always an upgrade; this could easily be a normal artifact (it's only a slight upgrade on Library of Leng after all) but by being a city; you get the effect cheaper. And slightly out of colour; but you can't have everything.

I mashed saying "I want a blue card" and got Denizen of the Deep.

Yeah. Not going there (though I do still have a rare slot open)

I think this makes a decent blue elf though. Bizzarely, the simple version of this hasn't previously been printed. Lots of 2/2+bonus+this ability; but never a simple 1/1.

Destined to be the most annoying 2-drop ever, I present...

Mash gave me Crypt Cobra. 3/3 poison. I'm not doing poison in set. Land destruction is what I'm doing. Oh, I know - something that's simultaneously a good and a bad thing should work nicely.

Pulled Bottomless Vault as a mash for the set; and realised black already HAD a mana creature, I didn't want two, and resolve dot do the mash and keep whichever was better.

Instead, I came up with this; which doesn't fit bottomless vault much (that's a different cycle of storage lands I was thinking of) but does fit the set theme better.

Steam Vines ... is a red Kudzu. Well, I guess that's where land destruction traditionally lives. Very very tempted to just make this a 2/1 landwalk for r. Why not; it's not overly good (how're you gonna have a killed land on turn2?) but it's certainly going to make an impact.

I don't understand what you're meaning by "eat it" at all. But a 2/2 deathtoucher is better at attacking than a 1/1 deathtoucher; a 3/3 deathtoucher even more so.

How about a variation on Bond Beetle: put the +1/+1 counter on target creature?

Ok, single keyword is sufficiently vanilla; can't be haste - green DOES get deathtouch. Still within green's putative power - but this hasn't quite been printed without a downside clause yet; so it's probably viable.

Edit: And now my design is STUPID. Because the reason green never got a 2/2 deathtoucher is that a 1/1 deathtoucher is just as powerful; and why would anyone sac a land to change that? Rethink required.

Vexing Devil. And yes, you could go the Shivan Wumpus route here, but I think this is fine.

(In fact, green gets 2/2s for {1} {g} with an ability at common, so this is kinda horribly underpowered. But it'd be too good at {g} . How about {1} {g} 1/2?)

I realised my ashwalkers weren't fleshed out; so decided to mash that - and pulled: Witch Engine

Gibber. Well; the witch already had swampwalk, so at least that fits. I guess it needs to make mana, to be like the witch. But not THAT much mana; because yeek, black doesn't get to do that sort of thing any more. Ok, let's do this - you don't want to let black destroy your lands with her around. but she's not crazy mana-accel like the engine was.
