Slightly fiddly, I'd keep an eye on this one - a mobile buff is sneaky.
Also the idea of "You have to kill this, then shatter it" strikes me as very very annoying to play against.
"tapped" -> "attacked this turn". Following templating from new Vizier of Deferment.
The triggered ability with the condition "When ~ dies," will never trigger. The sorcery will never be face-up on the battlefield, and this kind of trigger uses last-known information on the battelfield. The last-known information on the battlefield will only see the face-down creature side without abilities.
Gustcloak mechanic in
.
Oh. I was just wondering if this mechanic would be broken in combination with cards like Hero's Downfall or Crack the Earth. But, yeah, the Vampire Hexmage ability gets there too, I suppose.
Is the synergy with his fellow Vampire Thief of Blood intentional?
I like this.
The backside is left as an exercise to the reader.
but you might be better off with "splice onto sorcery"
I thought about that, but it wouldn't work for 3 reasons:
I want this mechanic to feel more like Surge and less like Splice.
Most cards won't return to hand after cast (this card is an exception, not the rule).
I want permanent cards with Link.
Not sure how you have thought about using this, but you might be better off with "splice onto sorcery". In this card at least you wouldn't lose much.
Another idea, copying the rules of Miracle, the reminder text would read:
Link to sorcery
(You may cast this card for its link cost when you cast a sorcery spell.)
And the actual rules would be:
Link is a static ability linked to a triggered ability (see rule 603.10). "Link to [type] [cost]" means "You may reveal this card from your hand as you cast a [type] spell. When you reveal this card this way, you may cast it by paying [cost] rather than its mana cost."
I suck at Planeswalkers.
Not sure about the power level.
