Uh. Yeah, that's a bit too good for 5 mana, I suspect.
Um. Wow. +5/+10, lifelink, blocks their whole attack. Wow.
I like those suggestions. I recently started playing a Yidris EDH deck, and one thing I noticed is I cast a /lot/ of spells each turn, and was thinking "what's a way to get value off the fact I'm doing this" (besides Storm), so that is sorta the idea behind the design here. EDH Storm decks or something.
Those are good points. Make it an 8 mana 8/8; for the roundness of the numbers. Then make it mythic; because that basically removes all "It's too powerful" complaints. :(
This is quite a lot more powerful than Recycle/Null Profusion, and even miles better than Commander staple Primordial Sage.
Nice! A solid advantage; and a built in limit to stop you going infinite - making it a card for people who want to play the game rather than fire of ridiculous combos... and those combo people will just take it as an extra challenge :)
Of course "Not infinite; but I have 30 mana and all my cards to choose from" is pretty game winning on its own. But so is the more normal usage of "I just cast four 1-drop elves, for free, and they cantrip now."
Very nice. Needs a theme, may I suggest a hydra? They are allegedly green's big beasty, and we almost never see any.
The one tiny niggle is that it's 7 mana, and 6/6. Round numbers would be nicer; but I think I agree with the costing and size you have here, mechanically.
It's definitely got problems, I'll think on it. Thanks for thinking along with me! :D
I like the start of using 'with a single target' to help cut down on the instances where it goes off the reservation of sense with multiple target descriptors/discriminators. and it should be instants/sorceries you cast-- good point. Gonna change it up and get some more discussion. :D
Fine; how about "UEOT, when selecting a target for a spell; you may instead select every legal target"
Um. No. That's not how things are phrased in the Comp Rules. For starters, spells don't target (v), they have a target (n).
UEOT, spells you cast which target may target every (legal) target, rather than a single one.
Deflection! I'm going to change the each of each spell with a single each!
Also Aphetto Dredging, Aerial Volley, Aegis Automaton, Arc Trail, Blood Feud, Carom, Captured by the Consulate...
Yeah, sadly this is why there was no card that granted Overload to arbitrary instants or sorceries. It's also the reason why "Splice onto sorcery" is basically doomed - because you could try to splice something targeted onto Mizzium Mortars and then change it to say "each" instead. Overload is a mechanic that only barely manages to work (it doesn't work at all in several foreign languages), and granting it to arbitrary spells is unfortunately doomed.
Most
designs should have an additional cost beyond one mana, since they so easily go infinite with anything that allows a creature to gain a mana ability.
