Oh, and by the way, I quite like idea of paying black for a red-blue card.
Why does it have a blue-red color indicator, but a blue-black border?
Ha! Looks like I've got the wrong image uploaded there :) Willfix!
Heh. I did not think I had five common designs for this mechanic, but I guess I got there. Some of them are questionable, but at least they look interesting. We'll see how they play later.
I wasn't sure if I should make this card at all, since it's bound to confuse some players who insist this card is a red card. But, hopefully, this card can help as a teaching tool, and force players to recognize early that these cards are two colored, despite the casting cost. I'm pretty sure this card would be featured on a tips and tricks card if it was a real set.
Just added a couple more of the mono/multicolored creatures. Not a full cycle, but something to accompany them. I figure a 1cc version is appropriate, so I made Beeble Scowler, and this Serpent seemed right (though it might be more appropriate as a 4/5 or 5/4. I'm more concerned with the idea than the numbers at this stage).
Oh, I'm being confusing. I don't want to have it only be evoked... I want both options to be viable choices in different decks. That's just.... hard... you know? For a creature that makes another token, it might be unrealistic for your reason exactly.
Um; wait, you WANT to have to only evoke it?
Because I'm reading this as "1/3 with totem armour that gets big when it dies the first time"
Sure, on offence that's an annoying speedbump; but on defence that's potentially really good.
Threw the cycle up. These cards are far from complete, since I consider most of these stats and abilities to be very mutable based upon the sets needs. I like the idea, though. Got a bit of Morningtide Evoke to it.
It's just a bit of shame with cards like this. These cards, when looked at as sorceries can be a little better than normal, since, for consistency's sake, you have to not be playing any Mountains... but you know... a 1/3 is technically better than no 1/3. I just wish I could make the sorcery side an appealing spell on it's own... and I suppose it is with blink, bounce, sac and recur tricks. Oh, you know what I mean. 4/4 for
ain't exciting. I suppose I'll have to live with that.
Oh, and Alex? Rootwater Assassin still has a red/green color indicator. Any idea why?
Huh. That's odd. Why is this showing up with a red-green color indicator?
Huh. Wacky, but yes, I like the idea of this being a cycle.
Idea number three. This card concept is stolen straight from Dissension's playbook, but uses a Sea Serpent approach, and only works when the creature dies. This way the card has a different application in a Green-White deck than it does in a mono-white deck. Sometimes better, sometimes worse... which is kind of nice, since I don't have to worry as hard about Ravnica dual lands, which seems to be the big hang up that Crypt Champion and company have.
