Le sigh. It's true. All those alternate payments make it look fair, but a firebreathing 2/2 for {3} with 3 'other abilities' is probably going too far, even if it looks worse than Fiery Hellhound. Now a 2/1.

Strange how this is kind of too good, when you compare it to Fiery Hellhound. I wonder if I should leave these 5 artifact creatures at this power level to help promote enemy color decks, or if I should scale this into a 2/1, 1/2 or 2/3 for 4...

I've been trying to find a way to give enemy colors something to draft in set, and I remembered the Granite Shard cycle from Mirrodin. That seems to work oddly well in this hybrid set, so I tossed it in. Did you know that {3/w} was supported? I just assumed I would have some ugliness on the cards and call it a day... but evidently Wizards is a step ahead.

This is obviously a bit underwhelming... It kind of happens when a common gives too many options. I was thinking about making these 1/2s for 2 or 2/2s for 3 (1/2 for 3?) but I'm not sure how I go about flavoring them. They're supposed to come with the Mirrans, but they shouldn't be Myr or Legendary Creatures? I guess 'Artifact Creature - Construct' is fine... just kind of sad. Still, access to more creatures will help draft along. Let's just do it.
