Aww, and here I was hopping you had a , so you could put it into or but not or .
Silly aside; it aint a great enchantment, but it aint bad either. It has the advantage of being castable even if you only found one forest and a manaelf; most of the 'get two extra mana' things need 3 mana. So yes, this certainly has a niche and I think would need to be watched like a hawk in case it got too good. But even if it is good, a lightning bolt will usually get rid of it, so I'd guess it's just niche.
It used to say "one mana of any colour", I infer not deleting "one" is just a typo.
Two mana plus a creature is probably about right for a two-mana boost, but I'm not sure when I'd actually want to play this: I feel like I'd usually just rather have a mana creature or a landsearch spell, and be frustrated if I have this, but sometimes it will make an interesting combo.
The removal in Avacyn Restored is in really, really short supply. I infer that white lightning bolt would usually be fine, but that white shock is perfectly printable.
What does "add one " mean?!
nice
I also designed the same card in Crash Headlong. I couldn't tell you if you beat me to the punch in GDS2 or not. Magic 20XX was designed right around then. Guess it was in the air. I'm pretty sure I was thinking about Leaf Arrow at the time as well.
Nah, this was originally designed to form a new cycle with Lightning Bolt and Leaf Arrow. If green can have conditional 3 point burn for 1 at common then I figure white can too.
I think WotC were just a bit too conservative with Righteous Blow.
There is a card in AVR that does 1 less damage for the same mana cost so this MAY be overpowered.
Look for a jack on the laptop that looks like a phone jack, but lrager. That's the Ethernet jack. Plug that into the one in the wall (that's probably where it is) and she's in business. If they don't supply the cable, and it didn't come with the laptop, she can get one at Walmart or Best Buy or any store that carries computer supplies (even Staples ought to have them). She just needs a straight Ethernet cable. (If it doesn't say either straight , standard or crossover it straight. The other kind is crossover which she doesn't want. Cat5, Cat6, Cat6E for the length she'll be using (5-15 feet, depending on what she needs) it doesn't make any difference.
It doesn't need to say "can't block creatures with flying", as that much is automatic unless it got granted flying or reach as well.
It is... but is it stronger than Merfolk Looter? I don't know. What I do know is that it scales in power from constructed to limited... and that's a holy grail of card design.
This seems very strong for common.
preliminary design that needs work
My apologies, your right. It doesn't get rid of the "Two guys who don't care about the Prisoner's Dilemma" problem... but it at least makes one person waste their time tapping out. So I suppose, in the end, it's more of a big tease and a skill testing trap for new players. It would be nice to see a game where having my opponent draw 6 cards was worth forcing a spell through, however.
The cards would be drawn if they do pay, not if they don't, making them a consolation prize for failing to counter the spell.
They're quite happy to print Mind Spring now anyway.
Broken in multiplayer, unfortunately. I cast Ornithopter. You respond with , counter or I draw 6 cards. I then respond to that with counter or I draw 6 cards. We both happily draw the cards because we're the sort of guys that the Prisoner Dilemma fails to work on.
Crazy thought: Is it important for this card to fill an uncommon slot? Could you do "if they pay, draw X cards" instead of just 1?
That would be some nice tension.
