I added those, they were the Common DFC lands i proposed earlier in the thread. Personally I like the idea of dual lands at common who are DFC lands, since they mirror the theme of the plan pretty well. They probably should not ETB tapped to make them not strictly worse than gates, forgot about that.
See Insect. Could have flying or deathtouch. Both are fitting.
See Card73419.

I think having more than usual amount of unique lands fits the theme of the set and makes Discovery more meaningful to build around within the set, and we had intended to try some manlands but haven't designed for them yet. Exactly where the limit is I'm not sure, but it can/should be more than normal. I honestly still feel like there still needs to be a rare land that adds mana of any color, or a rare land that utilizes Discovery (much like how there was one for Devotion), or both.
A cycle of lands seemed to slip in while no one was looking. I'm not too sure we have the room to do something like that, especially because if we do more dual lands they should be in enemy colors, considering we have the Horizon Canopy cycle at rare already. Maybe the common lands are just enemy color etb tapped lands? I would like to do a cycle of man lands also but I dont know if we really have the room. What does everyone think? Currently we are at 15 lands + some utility lands that where discussed before.
Reduced cmc on spell and added looting. reduced cost +2 power.
Just noticing that it has better stats than most of the uncommons we've made for the limited archetypes + its effect seems pretty good. Gonna change it anyway because it does feel better on most levels.
Yeah I saw the comparison, but figured as we were looking for commons and it could be a common at a push I'd stick it there for now.
I had intended this as an uncommon actually. My reference point is Karametra's Acolyte, which is the same concept for Devotion to Green.
Card edited to the new version. I think it can be kept at 3 CMC as a rare personally, given that Act On Impulse is uncommon at 3 CMC and this is multi-colored, I think it's not too pushed as a rare.
I also changed the card name to Explorative Impulse.
Given the change to insects and the flavor, I'd want to change the card name to something like "Summon Swarm".
Well, it's just a minor limited based theme. We don't want it to become a major theme or too close to it. I don't think we should be very concerned about making the theme feel unique. Having an element of caring about low toughness is already a unique enough axis for a
archetype I reckon, without trying to push it to make sure it feels distinctly different.
By 'big spells theme' I didn't just mean 'having cards that cared about a specific size of spell'. There are other ways, including more subtle ones, we can use to encourage playing larger spells. But yes, 4 is a good threshold for those that do.
I don't think we need to be concerned about things as developmentally specific as meta balancing of power and toughness. We haven't even got a full cardfile yet.
Yeah im up for that, keeping them both as Insects feels right.
Looking at the set overall I have to agree that we should try and bring the complexity down where we can. I think i'd rather do -2/-0 than unblockable until EOT but I'm not really sure.
