Alright. Only a few slots left... specifically a rare mono-land cycle I'm working on. First card is Ur-Golem's Eye. Second card is... Swamp? Are you trying to make my card for me Gatherer?
I like this idea. My only problem with it is the anti-sacrifice cost. makes it worse than Ur-Golem's eye in some ways (including this land, it feels like you tapped four mana to get BB.) seems suspiciously too good. Like this is a trick or something. I mean, an artifact that added BB for would be too good, so that can't be right.
Hmm...
When driving home, I realized by mere dint of asking "Is this exciting?" that it wasn't. At least not to me... otherwise I would have never asked the question.
I'll leave it alone. My big problem isn't so much that it obsoletes Silvos, but that Silvos isn't part of the flavor. But I like the twisted Drudge Skeleton text. Meh.
I think this is better than 5/10 for a mythic.
I thought you wanted to find a reprint in Mashup:TGA :)
Having the same stats doesn't seem a problem, but 5/10 seems plenty exciting too. (But then, I love big green things.)
Holy crap, I completely forgot about Silvos. Hmm... Is 5/10 unexciting?
Gah. I remember Silvos, Rogue Elemental being annoying enough. But you're right, this is what he'd probably look like these days if he was printed now.
Second attempt at a Mythic Green card mashed up with a Random Magic card. This time Drudge Skeleton popped up, so this is what popped out. Man... it's hard to figure out what I good p/t for cost+ability is in Mythic. Any guesses?
Alright, I brought him down to 2/1. I'd think about reducing him more, but I can't think of a way to do it without nerfing him. And besides... being an x/1 means that most any 1-drop creature can now stop him. In theory, you could cast a spell that kills creatures, and keep swinging... but that spell needs to cost 1, because of the tempo loss. And you can't play another threat. Personally, I'd much prefer to play Jackal Pup. That tempo loss means that the aggro deck can't reliably cast three drops, and will never cast four. It doesn't seem worth it, to me.
I'd play this turn 1 in Limited. 2 to 6 damage before my opponent can play blockers is totally worth the tempo loss.
Scythe Tiger will likely go down in history as the last card ever to use shroud primarily as a drawback. The "Stompy" deck played a number of cheap, sizable green creatures which they could then throw oodles of pump at for a quick win, but giving a 1-mana 3/2 shroud defies the mold which it would otherwise be screaming out for.
I probably should have mentioned Rogue Elephant while talking about this card. More just as a reminder that the Shroud ability is worth something on small creatures. It's just hard to recognize it sometimes.
I like the design; but to me it feels a lot stronger than Scythe Tiger, but I'm not sure why...
Mostly, I was digging through the workbench to fill a few slots. This doesn't feel like perfect common material for me, either, but in Mashup the Gathering, sometimes I'll take what I can get.
That said, I'm confused as to why you would think this is a fast card, dude. It feels like the sort of card I would play at the end of the curve, as opposed to the start. Compare this card to Scythe Tiger. Is this card really better than that common? Maybe... returning a land is certainly worse than returning one to your hand... but when you're playing with a tight curve, you hardly notice the difference.
I'm more than happy to drop this to a 2/1 or... um... something else. It just doesn't seem necessary to me. Anyone else?
The card this reminds me of most is Goblin Guide. Other than in a blistering fast Limited environment, I would make this uncommon or rare.
