try using mechanic
I think "flood target land" sounds most natural, and is probably best for the rules as well.
After some thought, I prefer "When ~ ETBs, flood target land." That way, maybe in the second set, we can develop the mechanic and have some bizarre creature that floods other creatures or something.
Also, I don't think this ability would work quite like I want it to, but I don't know how to fix that.
I would also like to keep it to 5 mono planes.
Sorry, I completely forgot to look here for new comments. Thus I missed the bit about reducing the number of planes. I'd rather keep it at the original number: having the 6th multicolor faction is different enough from normal magic lines, I think. Besides, I like the idea of the monocolor planes having animosity toward each other.
Just a weird card concept inspired by Jack V talking about tapping islands. Probably not common.
Flood could either be left at flood or extended to "flood target land." That's going to have to go in the reminder text anyway, so it's an aesthetic choice.
Also, this creature is meant to illustrate that I think creatures that flood should do something with the flooded lands.
Fixed typo in name.
Alex, I know it doesn't feel specifically like an enchantment, but you can think about it laying little mini enchantments on creatures each turn.
This can also be color-fixing for blue in limited. Perfect.
Come to think of it, "tap target island" would interact with and scale with the number of flooded islands. That would be simple, but give a reason to make many islands early. (We may well not go that route, but at least we've not cut it off.)
Minotaurs are undeniably Greek in flavor, though. Am I wrong?
I thought someone's "can block creatures as though they had no abilities" was ingenious, and I think that's clearly white, so there could be some of that, which is what I was thinking of when I considered giving white reach. I think giving white/blue reach wouldn't be the best thing, partly just because it's doing the best to make the change not matter. But I don't think it would be inappropriate whether they've had it before or not.
Come to think of it, blue's had one "U: tap target creature with flying" which would be a very blue anti-flyer ability.
White can also get plenty of "target attacking creature", which may fill the gap (with or without specific mention of flying).
Red and black can probably cope :)
