Is that meant to be "When ~ becomes tapped, it gets +2/-2 UEOT", or "As long as ~ is tapped, it [has/gets] +2/-2"?
Random Generator gave me Wicked Akuba and Swamp. Swamp color shifts Akuba to Black... oh... hold it. I wondered when this would come up.
My original idea was, in theory, if I was forced to color shift a card the same color, to find a way to make it more that color. That theory is a little easier said than done, though. All I could do to the Akuba is give it more abilities to make it more black, or make it more ridiculous and push it to Mythic. But what would happen if I got a Mythic/Rare and the same color colorshift? Make it common? Make it Elderazi absurd?
Another thought occured to me while figuring this out. Nothing color shifts to colorless. Maybe, color shift of same color can be my out to color shihft to artifact.
It seems I've straddled the line, here, and did a little of both. That's okay. I ended up with what looks like a fair artifact, that can give a hand to Catching Searblades.
Random Generator gave me Loxodon Convert and Castle Raptors. I tried letting gatherer randomize cards until I could get an appropriate person to make this quote. Unfortunately, you can't make the randomizer do your bidding, so I went and looked up Abbey Matron instead. Seems Halina doesn't like them, and I doubt she'd like these birds, either.
Hmmm... that's probably a fair assessment. I'm not as anti-shuffling as some people are... but some people are. Moving to uncommon so it doesn't happen as often and retemplating. Personally, I think the 'lotto' aspect of this card still sells it, though.
FWIW, Cascade cards such as Bloodbraid Elf give the "shuffle on the bottom" instruction as "put them on the bottom of your library in a random order".
I fear this would get exceedingly fiddly. Not fun to be doing every turn. I don't think that's so much "not common" as "not sensible".
