Random Generator gave me White Ward and Island. Island color shifts to blue. That's tricky. This does stretch blue's relationship to "Protection from X", but it does so in a way that infers that you might be changing the color of the base creature, or that the base creature often changes colors, and that seems acceptable to me. Also was able to keep the 'does not remove' clause, which, for some reason, makes me happy.
Random Generator gave me Teferi's Curse and Thelonite Hermit. I really like Phasing, and wish they'd bring it back someday in a more presentable form like this. Its a shame they didn't update phasing like they did with Fading, but that block was so jam packed with goodies, I don't begrudge them overlooking a wonky mechanic. Maybe some day.
The keyword is working double duty in this entry, because it allows me to explain how something works without forcing me to use the necessary game text to make it do exactly that. Reminder text, after all, doesn't have to be what the mechanic does exactly. This was a tricky one to put together. There are so many things going on, some of it would have to be dropped.
Not UEOT, just on when tapped, similar, in theory to the Castle Raptors when untapped. I think I prefer "when attacking" since it gets the message across clearler, but I'd rather have it line up, and it is such a small change (albeit, very important for red sorceries). I find it funny. The three different takes that are roughly the same, but all do different things when presented with a Twiddle.
Ha! Yeah, many black cards could be easily made "more Black", but Wicked Akuba is already about as black-intensive as it can get!
This seems a reasonable approach.
