Recent updates to Multiverse Feedback: (Generated at 2025-09-07 06:39:28)
No problem. It's not very easy to search existing suggestions: basically all you can do is look down this cardset's cardlist at the blue or white cards (for features) or black or red cards (for bugs).
I'll mark this as a duplicate of that one, then.
It is. I couldn't figure out what to research to find any previous suggestion of that ^_^;;
I think this is basically the same thing as "Stuff for me" notifications, right?
No, I don't; I am indeed planning on making most of it publicly visible, because it's the kind of thing that'd be of interest to other users sometimes.
You can do most of this pretty easily; by creating a comment or details page with the cards you're interested in, in triple-round brackets. The popup has activity details.
Still have to mouse-over to see what's updated though, so a feature providing it in tabular form (like the cardsets page) would indeed be nice.
e.g. Venombalm Sigil of Hatred
Thanks for the prompt answer! Also, do you think it would be a bad idea to make these pages publicly visible, in the way a wiki's user contributions page works?
Mm... It got deferred a bit by my working on other creative projects. I'm also feeling that with the current performance problems I might need to move to the faster version of Rails pretty soon. But yes, this is still a priority for the next major update.
Thanks for the prod.
Is it possible to inquire on the status of this?
Basically, this is a Use-Mention distinction problem.
At present, we can do [Mechanic], which gives
> CoolName (Crazy stuff happens)
and [Mechanic()], which gives
> CoolName
But if you type "Target creature gains [Mechanic] UEOT.", you get
> Target creature gains CoolName (Crazy stuff happens) until end of turn".
It'd be nice to have something like (OTTOMH) "Target creature gains [Mechanic $1] UEOT. [$1]", giving
> Target creature gains CoolName until end of turn. (It experiences crazy stuff)
... where the appended reminder is an second (optional) "mention" reminder text field on the Mechanic. Exact syntax can be whatever is easy to implement.
Here is a MSE HTML Export
http://www.sendspace.com/file/bhqx6f
Welcome!
I don't have an example export file from MSE, so if you have one you can easily send me (either HTML, TXT, or both), that would help me add the feature.
Multiverse does have an Import Data feature, but at the moment it only imports from CSV. (For example, here's the import page for the Testing cardset.) I'd be happy to add more import formats. (There have also been some occasional problems with the Import screen; if you see any problems, do let me know.)
I would like to join this community, but I'd rather not have to import by hand from MSE; is this issue being looked into? MSE can Export HTML, Apprentice and MagicWorkstation. I'm sure the HTML would be easy to import into this website?
Hmm. On my Android, just tapping a link does make the preview appear, but it also follows the link (so the preview doesn't usually get time to appear).
But I should remember that previews are harder to do on most mobile devices. My Android has a stylus that supports hover, so I get previews via actual hovering; I should remember that most people don't get that :)
I'll see if I can make clicks on previews dismiss them (if you're not clicking on an active part, that is. There currently aren't any active parts, but the plan is for there to be some soon.)
I concur - clicking on a preview (or on the background) probably should dismiss it. It's a bit too hard to get rid of, now.
I'm not sure if you were familiar with how the site displays on touch screen devices. Before the latest update, clicking on a mouse-over caused the preview to pop up. Clicking the link again caused you to open the page. To close a preview, you could click on another preview link or click on the preview itself. With this update, clicking the preview image doesn't do anything. I suppose that was the point, but I wanted you to know how it worked in other formats.
darn, no, not fixed
Huh, that's nice: fixing Preview disappears if mouse moves onto it appears to have fixed this too. Excellent.
not reproducible
Fixed, because I was rolling out a security patch and happened to also have a fix for this in my sandbox.
