It'll always feel like a waste using it for the +2/+2 rather than to kill a guy, but sometimes it'll be correct.

I'd normally rather have Consume Strength, but this is still fine as a common.

In a set that's a bit low in power, I'd rather have this than some sort of ultra-overcosted Rites of Reaping. That card makes me mad.

That's true, this is far preferable to a 6-mana monstrosity like Rites of Reaping.
