V: Does the new "New card (related to this one)" address your needs here?
I agree that the creation of a new card far more important than other factors.
I would rather it mention that the card was created, personally.
Fixed to specify the card, at least.
What do other people think about the other issue? If I create and comment on a card in one event, would you want the site-wide recent activity page to say "Alex created the card Blah", "Alex commented on Blah", or something else?
(I could make it say "Alex created and commented on Blah". That's fractionally more work, but not exactly backbreaking.)
Oh, interesting. I'm generally more interested in looking at cards that have comments than at cards that don't, so that's an interesting alternative perspective.
Note: As Alex points out, it's actually a caching issue. The change has stuck, as reflected on the card itself; it's just the front page didn't update. Which is a bug, but a less horrible one.
it's a caching issue
this is bad enough that I'd call it a bug
Oho, yes, I see the problem as I start writing this comment on my phone!
Multiverse really needs a full mobile view. But this is particularly unusable on mobile so I'll try to fix it up ASAP.
(Link: I think this is to do with the newly deployed position:fixed on card pages, not card popup previews, though they're definitely another area that could work better on mobile too.)
I can't really view the pop-up images at all on my Kindle.
I don't really have a suggestion - this is just a heads-up. Although, many websites can tell what platform you're using. Could the image just be anchored if you're on a mobile device? (Also, no pun intended.)
done, for now
done!
done!
Something like this would be really useful when I'm rapidly filling out a skeleton. I'm currently finding I click to edit one skeleton slot, create a card, and then am lacking either a link to the next/previous few rows in the skeleton, or a button to "save changes and go back to the skeleton". Sometimes I keep the skeleton open in another tab, but I have to refresh (a little slowly) to see which cards have been created.
It's not necessary since you can do it manually, but it would often be useful to have a "copy" operation that duplicated a card to another or the same cardset, if possible copied comment history, and posted a comment to each saying "see this other one".
Obviously it might be more elegant if old comments were shared between the cards, but I imagine the database can't do that.
Use cases: - "this card in multiverse design challenge is cool, I want it in my set without having to manually copy it" - "this card could go in two different directions, I want to create both without manually adding a comment explaining what's going on" - "I want to reprint this card" :)
Mentioned on Card transfer, does the request already exist elsewhere? (Also considerable overlap with Create card related to this one )
this happened a little while back
I agree that for the purpose of a multiverse database, frames without mechanical consequences are unnecessary.
