Hmmm. The big problem is: in what order?

I tend to use mouseover previews to look at cards I'm interested in, and Ctrl-click links to open new tabs for cards whose discussion threads I'm interested in. To look at lots of cards at once, I use the Visual Spoiler.

But I'm aware that a site ought to support a wide range of use cases. So help me understand here: what order do you want the "next/previous" buttons to go through? Order the cards were created? Order by recent activity on that card's comments? Cardlist default order (sort by colour then alphabetical)? My most recently sorted view of the cardlist??

As long as it's a stable order, it probably doesn't matter for this use case.

Skeleton order (if there is one) would be another logical choice.

Order by card code? Even if Circeus doesn't have an answer, it's a good question, something like that might be useful.

Or maybe even have several links "next/previous card with mechanic X" "next/previous card in skeleton" "next/previous card according to most recent search"..?

Skeleton would make a lot of sense. Currently I show one line from the skeleton on the edit page but only the card code on the card show page. I could expand that to show skeleton lines one or two steps forwards or backwards. But that's only any use on sets with skeletons.

You're right I could have several sets of nav links, though.

I would really appreciate if this feature didnt cost one W mana and was for free.

There are essentially two use cases: either there is a preexisting order (in the form of a skeleton or card code) or there is not. So if you choose to implement such a feature and do so on all sets (as opposed to only those with skeleton/card codes) you only need to pick what it's based on for sets without skeleton/codes, and the priority of ordering.

You could also make determining whether to display such a link and the criterion for ordering be set options. Not all set gain into it (I found it a problem when browsing through a set where cards were intended to be read in a story-specific order).

Something like this would be really useful when I'm rapidly filling out a skeleton. I'm currently finding I click to edit one skeleton slot, create a card, and then am lacking either a link to the next/previous few rows in the skeleton, or a button to "save changes and go back to the skeleton". Sometimes I keep the skeleton open in another tab, but I have to refresh (a little slowly) to see which cards have been created.
