Alternate abilities:

. If you do, you gain X life and draw X cards, where X is the amount of damage dealt to that player this turn."

. If you do, gain control of target artifact, creature, or enchantment that player controls."
"...you may pay
"...you may pay
What do you think of the first ability? In commander, it means it's always the same cost, but in a "normal" game, it means that it's free the fourth time and after.
Given how very clearly group-hug this is, I figured they had to be.
Yeah, destroying lands isn't very
, but I think that returning artifacts and enchantments might be.
Haha, yes. The similarities are intentional.
Phelddagrif? Is that you?
I was always disappointed with Numot.

is my favourite colour triplet, and Numot is a big dragon with a saboteur trigger to... destroy lands. Meh. This is much more fun :)
Yeah, I think omniscience is supposed to have broken combos :)
This is pretty nuts with Omniscience, but I don't think that's the fault of this card.
Obviously the most thematic would be Grand Arbiter Augustin IV.
Yes, the morph cost is mainly so that this isn't utterly useless if you don't want to group hug everyone and if you don't have Zedruu in play. It's also there because it's the simplest Magical representation of a "wrapped present." :)
Zedruu very much wishes for you to have this card. All praise Zedruu the benevolent!
(Is it fair to call a Zedruu card parasitic? Zedruu wishes for everyone to have copies of Zedruu in play.)
Ha! This is indeed great in a Zedruu deck.
Why the morph cost? So it's got something to do if you draw it when you don't have Zedruu?
Goes completely bonkers with Animar, Soul of Elements. At least this can't go in his Commander deck. Pretty scary also in a Heartless Summoning deck, or with Stone Calendar or Bronze Calendar.
(And now I have to tell you about the time I was playing a game with Bronze Calendar when I got summoned to go and have lunch with 40 other people. I kept to the Calendar's restriction all through lunch time without triggering the sacrifice for when the game eventually resumed. Most amusingly, none of the people I had lunch with realised I was doing anything out of the ordinary...)
There are several other universal cost reducers, of which the funniest is probably Cheap Ass.
Sure, why not? Shouldn't you be rewarded for doing things right? :-)
This also rewards casting things like Lingering Souls whose flashback cost is less than their normal cost.
Really? Rewarding cost reduction? Shouldn't that be reward enough?
