I mean that I tried my best to find an effect that white could do while using red mana or black mana, rather than trying to exactly find an intersection between the colors as hybrid does. This is more of a thought experiment than something I would actually put in a set.
What do you mean by "it's the closest interaction of two colours"? As far as I can tell, the colour pie per se wouldn't have any problem with, say, an instant for
with "~ is black. Destroy target artifact or enchantment." How "close" you make the effect to another colour that could have it depends entirely on the effect.
You need to be careful though. For one thing, players look at the frames of their cards to decide what to play in what decks. This card would get a collector number among the white cards, and I can imagine a number of players putting it in a deck with Plains, trying to cast it and being startled when their opponent says they can't.
(Well, okay, not this one, because it's an extremely niche effect. I think it's managed to be worse than Kumano's Blessing, which takes some doing. But Destiny Blade is extremely playable.)
The other reason to be careful with this effect is because it doesn't actually do much. Ghostfire was a sensible thing to do with it, because protection from red often interferes with a burn deck's attempts to burn creatures. But because this card doesn't target, there are very few cards which would care that this is white; Angel's Feather and friends are the only kind of thing.
That said, I have been trying to come up with a place to put Black and White and Red All Over for several months, just because I love what Multiverse does to the pinlines :)
See also Ritual of Cremation and Destiny Blade.
I don't know what kind of set this would go in, but I'm intrigued by it. It's the probably the closest interaction of two colors, probably closer that hybrid. See also Destiny Blade.
By the way, the reminder text of "You have no power" is great.
I could, and that would work for him, but not, for example, using Thada Adel, Acquisitor on myself.
...fighting isn't combat damage.
That (or at least being able to say that without giggles) right there sums up something about magic that is bad wrong and evil. Grrrr. (Could just make it 'deals damage' - is it THAT abusable if you turn him into a pingstick?)
Doesn't work for what I'm trying to accomplish. Fighting isn't combat damage, and I want him to be able to turn other creatures.

: ~ fights you. (You have no power)
Yeah, it's definitely iffy rules-wise. I wonder if "Tap target creature. That creature deals combat damage to its controller as though it were attacking" would make it clearer. It's just so many words, though, and would probably need a higher activation cost. Also, then it would be too similar to Zanshem, Heart's Betrayal.
The flavour is hilarious. I'm not sure if the design works, but the flavour is awesome enough (particularly with jmgariepy's comment) that I don't mind.
All I can imagine is a crazy Kung-Fu master from a cheezy 1970s Martial Arts movie, who's specialty is turning people's heads 180 degrees. I assume that when the hero fights this guy, his head gets turned 180, there's a pause, and then he keeps fighting backwards, and that is awesome.
Changed P/T.
I feel like the first ability (second if you count flying) needs more words, but I don't know what they should be. I also want it to be used offensively, so maybe "attacks its controller if able," but that's a lot of words and generally, that creature is not able.
This evolved from me wanting a way to use Thada Adel, Acquisitor's ability on myself.
Hee. Funky design. Reminds me a little of Body Snatcher, although it works rather differently.
I actually am considered shifting this to a white enchantment creature for Mono White for the Community Set.
I changed the wording of treasured.
Assuming that's undesired, there's wriggle room in the phrasing of "Search for a card" - if you search for more than one, then you can't. But searching for multiple things is probably done as multiple search-1, so dunno if you can get away with that.
And you probably don't want it to just allow you to pull every treasured thing into play in one go - although it DOES require some setting up, so might not be too terrible. It's certainly funny.
If you resolve Protean Hulk's death trigger, are you allowed to find four of these, claiming that you're finding them in place of four 0-cost creatures which you might or might not even have in the deck? That would even leave room for you to find a Titan for good measure.
