When SadisticMystic commented, it was because I had accidentally written "tokens" instead of "creatures."
Well, it works under the rules. It's kind of like Essence of the Wild in Curse form.
Okay, THIS is what I actually meant this to say... I think. It's 2:00 AM and I'm not really sure of much right now. lol
Oops. "Tokens" was supposed to say "creatures."
Pinocchioken is a silly card that performs an impossible action. How is its reverse operation any more possible?
Nice. I can already imagine packing this with Sphere of Duty, which goes a long way to explain why I'm not in the pro tour.
((C2509)) likes living there. Especially if there's more than one Reef.
Hmm. That would make it something like Reflecting Pool, but stronger with Karoos / Fertile Ground / etc. Reflecting Pool was somewhat dominant in its time in Standard, but that was partly due to its downright unfair interaction with the Vivid lands which this doesn't share. It'd likely still see tournament play like that, so it depends on whether that's what you want.
Do you think it would be safe to take off the
, since it doesn't have its own mana ability?
No, it wasn't deliberate. I was attempting to make a Planeswalker that complimented Alden, Gleeful Retributor. To be honest, I had completely forgotten the existence of Mirari's Wake when I made Caradoc.
His first ability is different from Mirari's Wake not only because it counts colors, but because it also boosts other players' creatures.
Vitenka makes a good point. Since you'll get a draw every draw phase, perhaps enters tapped and doesn't untap normally?
Between drawn cards? No. Between triggers resolving that all went on the stack at the same time, but resolve individually? Yes.
Do you get the chance to tap stuff between drawn cards? This does always give you 1 extra mana in your draw phase, though.
EDIT: I completely misread this as saying "graveyard" rather than "hand". Not sure how I managed that.
Somewhat more sane than I thought. Brimming with possibility, though. Be it turning Brainstorm / Jace, the Mind Sculptor into mana acceleration, doing odd things with Moonring Mirror or Ignorant Bliss, going mad with Teferi's Puzzle Box or Mindmoil... yeah, this would go well in my Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind deck.
Hmmm. Deserted Temple, not able to tap for mana on its own, and only breaking even on a Karoo (tap 2 lands to get 2 mana). Yet curiously versatile on other things. Lets you charge certain storage lands twice a turn... lets you get double duty from Cabal Coffers or Crypt of Agadeem... Doesn't let you do anything special with Magosi, the Waterveil as far as I can tell, but I might be missing something there...
I've been trying to think of any nonlands this works especially well with, to make it worth playing over Deserted Temple. It doesn't do much on Elvish Aberration (add 1 mana compared to if this was a Forest). It lets you double-charge Black Mana Battery and friends. It gives a Guardian Idol expensive vigilance. It looks like it ought to be awesome with Pili-Pala, but I don't think it is...
It lets you get double activations out of something like a Llanowar Elves you've put Power of Fire or Elemental Mastery on, I guess?
Mission successfully accomplished of making a Johnny card, anyway :)
In fact, the [+2] and the [-2] are the two halves of Mirari's Wake. Is that deliberate?
(They're somewhat better in each case. The first is far more terrifying with things like Marisi's Twinclaws, and the second is better with Karoos, Fertile Grounds, etc.)
I made my last comment knowing that he now cost more than Koth.
Well, it's because a) it's a 3-mana PW, b) it's just -1 instead of -2, c) starting loyalty of 4 instead of 3, d) it's not just 1 color of mana (it's a kind of mana fixing)
Changed all loyalty payments.
I put the second ability back to what it was when Cymerdown commented. It doesn't seem that much worse to me than Koth of the Hammer, although perhaps it should be a -2 ability like his.
Made more splashable, increased mana cost & starting loyalty.
I changed the wording of Treasured slightly. With Waking Weald, Coral Reef, and Sun-Dappled Caverns, this part of my attempt to design a land card for Johnny with fewer than 50 words.
Mission: Design a Johnny land.
