Probably doesn't matter but there are currently 5 spells at common/uncommon that make thopters that will still be at sorcery speed.

There are 3 strong examples that do that Yeva, Nature's Herald Shimmer Myr Rattlechains There are some less strong examples that don't Prophet of Kruphix Leyline of Anticipation Hypersonic Dragon

I think the best case for this not needing flash is Prophet of Kruphix. Prophet gives them flash for a reason, so that you can use your mana on other players turn. You could argue that this gives them flash so that they can be used as combat tricks to save this from thopters.
